ANTENNAS FOR 100 POUND DXPEDITIONS through the appropriate coil winding, and then tighten the knob until the hook is snug against the wire. A five-inch wander lead is attached to each coil. This wander lead is inserted into the top of the hook to complete the connection. Tapping a coil typically takes only a few seconds. Note that the five-inch wander lead must be included in the length of one of the wires for our model. I have added those five inches to the length of the whips so each specified whip length is augmented by five inches for each design. The two most obvious variations are obtained by either lengthening or shortening a whip or by tapping a different coil turn.
