Overview Jack & Cassie's story continues in the follow up to the Best Selling book, The Perfect Game.

Thrust into the spotlight, Cassie must learn how to navigate the waters of this sometimes unforgiving and cruel world. It's a lifestyle that makes you question your happiness and sanity as the past is never truly far behind.

How do you stay together when the world's trying to tear you apart?

Reviews So... looking at the reviews for this one, it seems like readers will either LOVE it or HATE it... not much in-between... I for one LOVED IT! Jack Carter is my ALL TIME favorite Jerk. Is it just me, or do you all just melt when he calls Cassie ‘Kitten’? Even though Jack was far from perfect in The Perfect Game, I still fell for him. For all those that didn’t love Jack in book one, he really turns it around in this one, and for all those like me who loved him in book one, you will love him more in this one!

The Perfect Game... a book that I loved, but gave me mass anxiety. Jack Carter. Oh Jack. Jack screwed up royally in The Perfect Game. But he is a changed man. He is ready to do what ever it takes to get things right between him and the love of his life. He has spent the last six months trying to get himself together, right all his wrongs. He isn’t a whole man without Cassie. He needs her, and only her. “It’s either Cassie for me or no one.”
The Game Changer starts where The Perfect Game left off... Jack got himself traded to the NY Mets so he could be closer to Cassie and try to win her back. It has been six months since the two have talked or spent anytime together. Both are still very much in love with one another, but Jack made a huge mistake. A mistake that almost ruined everything. Cassie has forgiven him. But trying to forget and moving on from the past is another story. I loved the first bit of the book- we got to see Jack reflect on the past. He told Cassie all about what has been going on the last six months, explaining to her why it took so long for him to contact her. He wanted to do the right thing for once. “I know I don’t deserve you, but I need you.”

All Jack wants is to be back in Cassie’s life. He will never make the same mistakes again. He will do whatever it takes to do what she needs him to do. He will do whatever it takes to Prove It. I'm a hard core JFC fan girl. I savored every word I read knowing (but secretly hoping I'm wrong) this may be the last piece of that cocky a-hole I get.

Where do I start ....

Cassie. Dear sweet Cassie. I may or may not have been plotting a murder while you were being mean to my boy. While in TPG I felt every emotion for you - you almost wore me out this time around!!

I mean, you have Jack Fn Carter begging to love you. Really?!? I'm not even going to elaborate on that-- I will repeat though. Just incase you may have missed it .......

YOU HAVE JACK FN CARTER BEGGING TO LOVE YOU.

Let him love you. Shut your sassy mouth, pull up your big girlies, And fn don't leave him. Ever

Mmmmmkay!?

Moving on

This book continues where TPG left off - with their new life in NY and like with Jack playing for the Mets.

Cassie has to adjust to life in the spotlight and balancing her normal life with that. Seems simple right? Well then we get Jacks fn POV from the last six months of them apart.

Chrystal. Yeah remember her? Lying fake pregnant ex wife home wrecker? Well she's baaaack! Someone needs to high FIVE her. In the face. With a metal chair. Five or six times. Cassie and Jack have to deal with her drama and between that and all the other stress if being with a professional athlete - Cassie doubts her decision.

Yeah. Read my above statements about being annoyed with Cassie

There were quite a few quotes I highlighted that I want to share- but I'm going to pick my FAVORITES ::

"This is grade A certified goods right here. You're lucky I don't charge admission"

Cocky much?! Lol

" nothing would make me happier kitten, than to know my home is where you are"

"I watched the game for one reason and one reason only. Jack. Fn. Carter. "

"Photography is my passion, jack. It owns every piece of my soul, my guys, EVRYthing inside if me." <--- Jenn Sterling. Are you stalking me now?! You know as a photog I felt this they my bones. This spoke to me so deep I'm getting goosies typing this

"Without you, I'd be half a shell if a man. A hollowed out, empty, lifeless carcass. And I know that because I've been there. I lived through it. I lived through losing you due to my own stupidity, and I can never explain to you what that felt like...."<--------Jack Carter got deep people. And I was all in with him. Drowning in jack fn carter goodness.

Jake Wethers. Say what?!?!<--- loved that shout out!

Jack fn carter crying. I'm dying. Aspirating on my crying snot. Thank J fn sterling. You killed me

And Gramps. Geez. Making me ugly cry. Yep that happened right about. HERE::: " what matters the most is who you love. Because when everything else is a distant memory, the people you love are All that's left. And love is the single most important thing we can do in our lives. Give it. Receive it. Teach others how to do it. "

"You care about who is standing beside you when sh*t hits the fan"

I am going to miss waiting for this book. Sometimes I wish I could unread them. Just to fall in love again!

NEED MORE JACK F'N CARTER-I'M NOT DONE WITH THAT A-HOLE YET

OH AND ONE MORE THING-- MATTEO.. YEA, THANK YOU FOR HIM TOO I have some mad love for J. Sterling. Not only as an author but as a genuinely nice person that cares about and talks with her fans. That being said, I find myself extremely lucky to have had the chance to read "The Game Changer" prior to its release.

This book for me was a solid 4 stars throughout most of it. I have this little requirement for a book to earn that 5th star...it has to evoke some sort of emotion in me, whether it be that it makes me cry, gives me goose bumps, turns me on, etc. The emotion has to reach out from the book and grab at my heart strings. Miss Sterling squeaked that out at the end for me and earned that 5th star.

First off, if you haven't read "The Perfect Game" by J. Sterling, you need to go read that first. After reading it, if you felt pissed off at either Jack or Cassie so much that you wanted to throw your Kindle/Nook/paperback against the wall, then you need to read this book. Heck, you just need to read this even if you didn't get pissed off.

The book starts off as flashbacks to different events that occurred in "The Perfect Game" giving you a look at what was going through Jack's mind as the story played out. Believe me, if you didn't love him before, your heart will reach out to him now. And don't worry; the story is not just a rewrite of "The Perfect Game" from Jack's perspective. Now that the drama from the past is behind them, they must learn (sometimes the hard way) how to handle life together with one of them being in the public eye and see if they have enough trust in each other to make it through as a couple.

Aside from Jack and Cassie, many of the same characters from the first book make a second appearance in "The Game Changer" - Melissa and Dean in particular are a favorite of mine - with the addition of some other important (and HOT) characters. Miss Sterling has a way with creating characters that you either love to hate, hate to love, or simply can't help falling for.

"The Game Changer" was a perfect continuation of the story started in "The Perfect Game." I was entertained, shocked, happy, sad, and utterly satisfied by the time I reached the end of the story. I would recommend this book to everyone that read "The Perfect Game" whether you loved it or hated it. I loved this series. I truly hope there is a third with little Jack babies! Also more with Dean and Meli! I love all of them to pieces. Now on to the rest of my review.

There were a few things that bugged me in this book. One the beginning says his eyes are blue, when they are chocolate brown. Two, I hated how Cassie would always run away, I hated how Jack was upset with Cassie towards the end. He messed up so much, he should not talk. But, I understood where he was coming from and when he told Cassie to "prove it" it needed to be done so Cassie would grow up and realize, she can't always run away. So, those were minor annoyances. Took nothing away from this book. I felt so bad for all the crap Cassie and Jack had to go through, mostly Jack. Wow. I I feel bad for celebrities in general, this stuff actually happens. It's sickening and sad. I loved the entire first part of the book with Jack telling the story of his time away, I loved seeing that from his POV and through his eyes, we needed that. I think I possibly fell even more in love with Jack this book. The quarters thing, is adorable and I love it! I am so happy they over came all obstacles and fought the odds and came out on

top! I only wish them happiness for the rest of their lives. Did I mention I need a third book? I truly think there is room for one more and maybe a spin off with Dean and Melissa! I was happy Vanessa came clean! And I hope Chrystle gets everything that bitch deserves ;-) This was a truly beautiful book and series, I simply loved it. Thank you Jenn, for this new and amazing series. It was a breath of fresh air to the book world. So thank you and PLEASE write another ;-) We need Jack fucking Carter babies!

Some quotes I loved:

"Because there's nothing to discuss. I'm not leaving you ever again. And you're not leaving me. No matter how pissed off I make you, or how frustrated. I fucking love you, and I'm not going anywhere."

"And I love you. But really, if you ever cheat on me again, I'll cut your nuts off and hang them from the Empire State Building."

"Without you, I'd be a shell of a man. A hollowed-out, empty, lifeless carcass. And I know that because I've been there. I loved through it. I lived through losing you due to my own stupidity, and I can never explain to you what that felt like."

"Nope. I think he knows I'll deck him,"(LMAO, I Love Jack! Hilarious <3)

"Then don't give up. One day you'll look around and realize that all the things you thought mattered so much, really didn't matter much at all."

"What matters the most is who you love. Because when everything else is a distant memory, the people you love are all that's left. And love is the single most important thing we can do in our lives. Give it, Receive it. Teach others how to do it."

"Love is life. If you miss out on love, you miss out on life."

"Because there isn't a game on Earth I want to play if you're not by my side."

"I'll hold your ass in place if she wants to do it again. Now get the fuck out of my apartment building, you stupid bitch." Okay, I love that Jenn Sterling wrote this book because basically her fans insisted that she do so. That's one dedicated author to give her obsessed readers exactly what they want... and the sequel was just that.

I always thought Jack was pretty much a jack-ass and at some points in the book I still felt that way as he continually has a double standard in regards to Cassie; however, I felt the book had complete redemption at the end, and am perfectly content with how their story has concluded. Too much was left hanging after the first, and I am no longer upset with Cassie and her inability to stay away from him. The idea that you can't choose who you love, but you choose your actions is still an underlying theme.

I enjoyed the flash back sequences for the first quarter of the book, revealing Jack's life in between his screw up and showing up for Cassie in NYC. It was both a refresher after reading The Perfect Game so long ago and romantically entertaining to reread it again. The drama that Cassie must deal with from fans and the paparazzi was a great plot line, but also a social commentary on bitchy women tearing each other down, bullies, and the tabloid industry. It was a great conclusion to their story and I even enjoyed it more than the first. Thank you for honoring your fans! The Game Changer is the sequel to The Perfect Game and this book, J. Sterling somehow did a recap of what had happened in book 1 what Jack did in the months he was settling the annulment and all the drama and where he did not communicate with Cassie for that period of time. We get to see his side of the story and how he sort all things before he barge in again to Cassie’s life. And as much as I hate Jack for all the fucked up things he did in book 1, I kinda love him more in this book. He PROVED himself to Cassie and it was so much fun to read.

The first half of the book was all about the past and the months Jack didn’t show up and the second half is all about moving forward with their relationship & how he proved himself to Cassie. He was sorry alright but to say you’re sorry is one thing but to actually SHOW & PROVE that you are is another. We get to see Cassie’s struggle in trusting Jack again. There were doubts but she loves him so she chose to overcome that doubt but there were other factors to consider. We see her question the relationship and if she is really in for the ride. The fame that Jack have in the book is overwhelming for Cassie and though she wants to be there for him, it was tearing her apart. I like that J. Sterling gave us the vulnerable & realistic side of Cassie. It shows that her character is human, that she needs to question her decisions to make sure she is in the right path. I think at one point or maybe more, we need to question things especially things that involves us emotionally and for Cassie, I think it was the right thing to do. Coz in the end, she realized who she needs and as a human being, sometimes what we need is just space to breathe.

It was different for Jack, he already knows what he wants, who he wants in his life so she lets Cassie take her time to think. I think it was so brave of him to do that and I like that J. Sterling wrote that scene with such sincerity that as a reader, I really felt that Jack is proving himself and making the promise he made to Cassie. I like how different they are when it comes to thinking of what’s important in their relationship. It was so much fun to read and one thing that struck me most is that you really have to communicate coz it will make things easier for both parties and NEVER be afraid to let your significant other carry some of the burden for it is a relationship and that means it includes two individuals.

I think my fave scene in the book is where Cassie finally came back and they talk and we see Jack explain his side to Cassie. It was so emotional for me because it makes sense and not just for books but also in real life. What he said to Cassie is raw, real, deep and it comes from his heart. Eventually things worked out fine and there is a happy ever after after all. It was such a roller coaster ride from The Perfect Game to The Game Changer. What a fan-fucking-tastic story!

To be honest, I want to read more of Cassie & Jack. I hope J. Sterling continue their story. But I also want to read Dean & Melissa’s story. It will be a different one coz Mel is such an interesting & complicated story and what her and Dean have is like… crazy. HAHAHAHA Seriously, this series will blow you mind, in a good

way. If you love stories bout love, a baller and the drama that comes along with it then read this series. You will love it, no doubt. :)
