Reviews This book was spectacular in my opinion. I was a little nervous to read this because I thought it was going to be so much like all the other Billionaire love stories out there already. I must say I was pleasantly surprised this book was so different. Yes it had the mega rich man that was slightly broken with and issue from his past and it had the young woman who was also broken in many ways, but this story was just so much more then that. This book wasn't just a couple who argued and had make up sex all the time there was actually another storyline that played into this book. Now don't get me wrong there was arguing and hot make up sex but it didn't revolve around that. I have to say I fell in love with Connor, he ranks right up there with Christian, Gideon and Travis for me. He was a douche in the beginning but as time went on he totally melted my heart. I loved loved loved Ellery. She was one of the strongest heroines I have read about in a long time. We definitely need more leading ladies like her in books. I loved how she didn't take crap from anyone especially Connor. Connor was very dominant but she didn't cower and hide, she stood up to him and told him off when need be. Ellery has seen and been through her fair share of pain in her short life, but she still persevered and came out stronger in the end. I was a little aggravated with her towards the end because she was such a strong woman, that strength sometimes turned into stubbornness and some of the drama at the end of the book could have been avoided. I will say that I enjoyed the mix of story to sex scenes....this book wasn't overpowered by one or the other it had a great mix. I also loved the secondary characters .... Peyton, Ellery's BFF, was awesome. She

was funny and strong also, but she was a great support for Ellery when she needed it.

As I have said before that what makes a great book, is what emotions I feel throughout the book....This book evoked many different emotions from me, I was laughing, crying, yelling, and just over all loving. That to me deserves 5 stars. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. I'm a little late to the bandwagon but better late than never. Sandi Lynn has created characters that I completely connected with. Conner had something happen when he was younger and made a decision that he would never fall in love or have a relationship. Then there is Elle, a old soul in a young body. I knew not far into the book that something was wrong and I suspected what it might be but that didn't take away from the emotions that I experience when all was revealed and how they both dealt with it. Neither was right or wrong, they were just human. I liked how all the other things didn't stop them from reconnecting fairly quickly after their fights. Elle at times kinda drove me crazy with her way of exploding but given what she was dealing with I gave her a break. I enjoyed the humour and the scene in the seafood restaurant had me laughing out loud. Sandi Lynn's way of taking a very serious and scary subject and interjecting the humour made me love Conner and Elle even more. Elle's friend Peyton what a hoot she was great with her let it all hang out attitude. Totally loved her. Even the friends she made in California which were only a small part were great secondary characters. This is a great read I ran the entire gambit of emotions and enjoyed every minute. I have moved onto Conner's story and looking forward to the next one. Sandi hooked me and I will be on the look out for anything she writes. Way to go Sandi, Way to go. Loved it. It's one of those stories that puts a smile on my face and imprinted something on me. I'm pretty sure I will never forget the story of Connor and Elle.

The plot of the story is flawless and very, very good. It's a story between two people, who has their own issues to deal with. One stricken with cancer and the other one, damaged by his past. Elle just came out from a relationship with Kyle -

her boyfriend of 4 years, thinking that what they had was one true love only to find out that Kyle was a cheater and Elle devastated by their break up tried to move on with her life. She is a very talented painter and artist and with the help of her awesome BFF - Peyton, she was able to overcome every struggle that life has thrown into her.

Their first meeting might have been very embarrassing since Connor's drunken state hardly remembered the exact events that happened that night. Elle, being a very compassionate and helpful person, helped Connor to bring him to his home. That incident brought them together though the scene that happened the morning after didn't go very well.

I love Elle's attitude here. She is a very brave woman, who constantly defies Connor's controlling nature and despite of her health condition, she has a sparkling personality. She goes with what she wants. Connor, on the other hand is a control-freak and has commitment issues, doesn't do relationships and with his gorgeous looks and billionaire status, turns him into a man-whore that he is. Everything changed when their worlds collide. They tried to remain friends but their undeniable chemistry changed that. Connor has a stalking tendencies and I find it very sweet. Who wouldn't want to be stalked with a guy like him!...hahaha!

This story made me laughed, cried at some point and brought smile on my face as I read into the best romantic lines of Connor. Who would have thought that he has a romantic side. Sometimes, he acts like an a$*h*le and I hate him for that...

Anyway, this story deserves 5 amazing stars from me because it touched my heart. A story about love, courage and strength. A story about doing all the things for that one person you truly love - making him/her believe that forever does exist. Supporting characters were well thought of. Of course, the ending made me happy. They deserve a HEA after everything they've been through so it's a plus point for me.

Highly recommended. If you want a story that would melt your heart and definitely unforgettable, this is it. Definitely, a must-read.

I found this book from an email about Amazon recommendations. I am happy that I found it. It was not what I was expecting at all! I was expecting the popular romances that are out right now. This book is a nice change. It was a sweet story and an enjoyable read. I can relate to Ellery because I am in remission from cancer, and I felt some of what she was feeling. I went through chemo too, but my experience was different then hers. Some of it seemed a little over the top with her symptoms at times because treatment has come a long way and for most the symptoms aren't that extremes anymore. The book really didn't go into much detail about Conner and I felt like we were missing something from him. There was a chapter that all of a sudden switched to his POV that I felt didn't flow with the rest of the story. Other than those things, I really did enjoy this book and I think the author did a great job. I absolutely loved and adored this book. It is definitely on of my favorites for 2013. Once I was able to read this book without any interruptions I devoured it in a day for the most part.

This book tells the story of Ellery and Connor. Ellery recently experiences a breakup in the beginning of the book and doesnt really want to date anyone. Connor is a millionaire CEO, controlling, manwhore who doesnt do sleepovers. The way they met is kind of scary in a way. Ellery sees him at the club drunk as a skunk and decides to be a good Samaritan and help him home and take care of him. Who in the world does that????? Only Ellery and only in books.

Most of the time the females get on my last nerves romance novels but that was not the case with Forever Black. I loved that Ellery had a mind of her own and she didnt give in to Connor just because "he said so". She challenged him like no one had before. That along with her sweet kind heart made Connor fall for her. I also enjoyed reading about their dates and how he would just pop up at the places she went to. It kind of reminded me of Christian Grey without the whole Dom/Sub thing. Its something about those controlling millionaires that gets my blood pumping! Ellery's history and story also hit home for me and I can relate to what she experienced growing up. I dont blame her for not sharing her secret right away and I was LIVID when her ex-boyfriend Kyle spilled the beans to Connor and even more PISSED off when Connor walked out on her. Instead of consoling her he walked out on her. How can you care for someone and just walk away so easily? I would not have been so quick to forgive him for that. Call me crazy but I

even loved the arguments that they had after everything hit the fan. I was on Ellery's side the entire time. Connor was too quick to dismiss Ellery and send her back on a plane. He was cruel at times and I probably would have just left him alone for good but of course that would not have made for such a good story. LOL!!

I loved the ending of this book and the epilogue. I felt really emotional during the beach scenes. Even though Connor had his controlling moments he really had a sweet side. I got a cavity from that sunset scene because it was just that darn sweet! There is nothing like a good happy ending to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. First of all, I LOVED this book. I read it in one sitting and thought about it all day afterwards.

I originally gave this four stars and after pondering it changed my mind and gave it a full five stars. Here is why:

First of all I loved the characters, but I also wanted to slap the s**t out of them! The angst between these two was absolutely brutal. But it's like that horrible scene in a movie where you know it's going to rip your heart out and you just can't look away.

There is a huge spoiler that I won't include here because I know you will click on it. I always click on the spoilers. Let me just tell you this. It's heart wrenching. It makes you look at your life and say...wow...the hard decisions in my life suddenly seem like childs play compared to this.

It starts out with Connor being a player who doesn't date woman, but meets Ellery and is entranced by her for some reason. That seems typical enough, but let me tell you. It's not. Ellery has a huge secret that could completely break Connor's new found love for her.

Never fear these two do find their HEA and it is a beautiful one. However, this is where I had my 4 star 5star dilemma. At first I felt like the ending was too abrubt. The whole book was angst and turmoil and heartbreak and then all of a sudden, BAM they're together and everything works out perfectly.

At first I was like, that's it? After practically giving me PTSD with this book, it works out-just like that? And then I started thinking about it more. Sometimes, more often then not actually, things happen quickly. They hit you fast and unexpected. That is how Ellery and Connor fell in love and that is how they ended. So really, the ending makes perfect sense.

Great job Sandi!! I can't wait to read more from you! What an incredible amazing emotional book. This book was filled with every emotion u could name. OMG! I have not been emotionally touched by a book in a while and this took my breath away. I cannot wait to read MORE FROM THIS AUTHOR.

The author didn't make Connor over the top. He was rich, rich, rich but she didn't play it up. He was just rich and successful. Not in your face about which I loved. His money didn't become a focus of the story. She also didn't go to the extent of making his sexual abilities over the top. She made the book about the story. Elle was adorable in the beginning of the book. I enjoyed her character and as the story went on the author showed her vulnerabilities in very real ways.

If you love to feel real emotions and a good story read this book. I fail to see how anyone can give this book less than 5 stars. It's simply mesmerising and so emotional you cannot put this book down.

I'll forever have Connor in my head and probably what I will most visualise with him is when they were in the park and the rain. Thats one of those moments and scenes that is foremost in my mind and just seemed so paramount.

I loved Elle, just about everything in her character was adorable, except the running, but I could totally relate to that and why she did it all the time. I loved her fiery side and I loved the way Connor was always shocked by her outbursts especially later in the book when he tried to start avoiding Elle getting her knickers in a knot over some woman openly flirting with him.

Not only was this book so emotional, it was funny, heart warming and oozing sexiness.

If I had one uber grudge it would be the ending as (in the epilogue) was too stilted, I felt that could have been written not as a short epilogue but this story had enough appeal to make the ending last more too. It certainly didn't detract enough though to warrant knocking a star off the rating.

This is definitely a five star read. Well done Sandi your debut novel is a first class knockout and I can't wait to read more from you.
