Parsons Avenue Food Campus 1 PARSONS AVE
The Third Place: “The Food Campus is meant to insert the notion of the ‘Third Place” into people’s lives, which now typically consists of work and home. The Third Place would be a community space that is able to relieve people of their duties at home or at work and successfully immerse them into a happy community environment.
Project Description: The NDC will propose design strategies for three sites located in Southside Columbus on Parsons Avenue. 1. Food Hub 2. Food Forest 3. Pop-up Container Yard Site one, the Food Hub, will include a kitchen, production, education, and retail building. The second site will be a Food Forest, which is a semi-dense edible garden. The third site is a Pop-up Space, which holds shipping containers and possesses the ability to host festivals as well as community activities.
