Focus on Strengths What is a strength? Good at and Energising Do you recognise your strengths? Not recognising a strength is the singles biggest blocker to making the most of what you have to offer.
Strengthspotting Describe one thing that you are not good at and drains you? observers: take notes on everything that you hear and see Describe one thing that you are good at and energises you? observers: take notes on everything that you hear and see Exercise: Strengthspotting in pairs • Turn to your OPQ report - Personal style and career approach: • Choose the ‘strength’ you feel describes you best and describe this to your coaching pair. • Be a strengthspotter & give feedback.
Balance of Strengths “What is good about life is as genuine as what is bad” – C Peterson Do you use your strengths appropriately? Using your strengths at the right time, in the right way and to the right amount. What about weaknesses? Exercise: OPQ review pairs • Turn to your OPQ report - Behavioural preferences • Discuss in turn to what extent: • you answered the OPQ questions wholeheartedly? • the descriptions ‘feel like you’? • how this supports your job search activity?
