FALL LUNCHEON

Thursday, October 19, 2017 Riverpark: 450 East 29th Street “Through Shapiro’s grace and instruction, she makes the reader share her unswerving belief that the act of writing can transform and shape our vision of ourselves and of the world.” — Salon If you missed last year’s luncheon — and our great speaker Ann Hood — we highly suggest you attend this one! Dani Shapiro is a Jewish feminist writer, who studied with noted author Grace Paley, and is the bestselling author of four memoirs and five novels. Her recent book, Hourglass, is a “searing narrative, a love story through-and-through.” It’s about her 18 year marriage to “M,” who traded his career as a successful war correspondent for one as a struggling screenwriter, so that she wouldn’t have to worry about him being on the battlefield. The venue, Riverpark, is owned by celebrity chef Tom Colicchio, and serves organic, farm-to-table recipes at a gorgeous location overlooking the East River.

Tickets:

$150 — Individual ticket; $200 — Patron ticket and donation to NCJW NY; $250 — Benefactor ticket and a signed copy of Dani’s new book; $500 — Underwriter ticket, a signed book, and entry to a cocktail reception with Dani in the evening following the luncheon. | Register on the back page of the Bulletin
