Pistoia, photo emotions
he “Pistoia, le emozioni delle immagini” event grew out of a desire to discover an alternative city by means of the passion and love of our many friends. Photography is capable of magically freezing emotions in time. Today the evolution of ever more sophisticated and accessible digital technology means that taking a photo is an everyday gesture which can sometimes be overused. We all think we can take a good photo but there
is a dividing line which marks out the ‘emotion photographer’. This dividing line is intuition, the ability to capture a moment and etch it into the minds of the beholder. It is like capturing a splendid butterfly without harming it and then leaving it free to fly once more, preserving its elegant beauty in the infinite space of our imaginations. Today it is this ability to interpret, capture and recount beauty without altering it which is the most intriguing and fascinating aspect of photography. Our first photographic competition, “Pistoia, le emozioni delle immagini”, concluded on the 30th of June. Lots of photos were taken by photography lovers and friends of our page. They are extremely pleasant and ‘thrilling’ shots which, as promised, we will publish a few at a
time on the pages of our magazine Naturart Pistoia nel Mondo il Mondo a Pistoia (Pistoia in the World the World at Pistoia) starting with this issue. Three photographers got the largest number of votes and are at the top of the classifications. In order, Sandro Nerucci with “Riflessioni Lago Parco Puccini”, Giulia Baglini with “Veduta da Pontenuovo” and Rudargia Foto with “Riflessioni-architettoniche”. This first photo contest was a great success and a large number of photos were sent in. There is no doubt that our goals have been reached: to admire Pistoia and show it to others if possible from unusual angles, through the eyes and photographic emotions of our many friends who love this town! 91
