If you want an introduction to Ukraine’s traditional culture and ethnic arts, there is no better place to begin than Kraina Mriy (Land of Dreams), the most famous international music folk festival in Ukraine. The festival brings ethnic artists and craftsmen from Ukraine and across Europe to Kiev to demonstrate their art and skills. Art and craft markets are an opportunity to find something unique. The markets operate on weekends in almost every large city, as well as on the sites of outdoor museums. Located near Kiev, the sprawling and picturesque Ukrainian Village introduces the culture and life of the Ukrainians of the 18th and 19th centuries. Here you can visit genuine ancient houses brought from different regions of Ukraine. At the Ukrainian Village you will experience all the colour, beauty and simplicity of the rural life of the Ukrainians and their spirituality; you will become more familiar with both ancient and modern Ukraine. The Kyivan Rus Park, the Centre of Culture and History of Ancient Rus, is a unique life-size reconstruction of a medieval city where cultural and historical festivals take place.
