Tips for Looking After Your Floor
surface which stone, tile 25
• Install good sized floor mats both inside and outside external doors to trap dirt and grit and to dry wet shoe soles.
• Install felt protectors on the base of furniture legs.
• Dust, sweep or vacuum floors regularly to remove grit that can cause micro-scratches in the floor s surface.
• Remove spills immediately and spot clean affected areas using a Bona Trigger Spray and a soft cloth. Never use household cleaners on finished timber or hard surface floors. These may damage polyurethane finishes and make re-coating difficult. They can also dull and damage hard surface flooring.
• Clean the floor on a regular basis using a Bona Spray Mop. Clean high traffic areas such as kitchens more frequently Never ‘wet mop’ a timber floor Too much water can have an adverse effect. A light spray mist of a non-toxic cleaner such as a Bona floor cleaner is all that is necessary
• In very heavily trafficked areas, such as entrance halls and kitchens, the use of mats or rugs should be considered to reduce surface wear These should be permeable to allow the floor to ‘breathe’.
• Avoid creating indentations in the floor. Common causes are stiletto heels and pet claws.
• Use a floor refresher or polish such as Bona Wood Floor Refresher or Bona Stone, Tile & Laminate Polish if your floor starts to lose its sheen. This will revive surfaces to give a newly finished look and continued protection against wear
Sensible and regular preventative maintenance will extend the time before refurbishment is necessary and keep the floor looking great.

Apply
Thoroughly wet the Bona Applicator Pad with the product and apply a wavy line of product on the floor
Smooth
Even out the applied product by drawing the applicator pad smoothly across the floor. Using Refresher on timber floors go with the grain of the wood, using Polish on hard surface floors apply in a single direction. Continue the process until the entire floor has been coated. Ensure an even appearance and sheen by observing the coverage rate.
Drying
Allow at least 2 hours to dry before walking on the floor Avoid heavy traffic and replacing furniture; Polish 12hrs, Refresher 24hrs.
Note: If the floor has previously been maintained with polish or wax this may affect the adhesion of Bona products. If in doubt, do a trial application on a test area. Bona Refresher may increase the sheen on matt or extra matt surfaces.
