9 The President wants to promote women in all areas of the industry

“MY PREDECESSOR SUCCESSFULLY PROMOTED WOMEN WITHIN THE INDUSTRY. I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP THIS MOMENTUM GOING. I HOPE BY SHOWING HOW FAR I HAVE GONE THROUGHOUT THE NASC I HAVE PAVED THE WAY FOR MORE WOMEN TO FOLLOW”

In addition to this I also encourage the employment of ex-military personnel by members. The NASC has pledged a fund of £150,000 for training ex-military personnel within our membership. More details will follow on how to access this fund. F o r t h e m e m b e r s h ip t o s t a r t recruiting we are devising a jobs page on the website so that members can advertise vacancies which can then be passed on to the MOD and the charities we have started to liaise with. While I’ll be focused on delivering these objectives, I’ll also be working hard to ensure the NASC, as the trade body for scaffolding and access in the UK, continues to work for and on behalf of the scaffolding industry both here and overseas. This includes continuing to publish and update guidance, establish and deepen connections with the wider construction industry and set the bar for scaffolding in the UK. Central to the success of these activities are the NASC members, whose values and ethos – including a commitment to safety, training, compliance and providing a quality service – match those of the NASC, and are displayed on sites up and down the country every day.
