BREAKOUT SESSIONS FRIDAY, MARCH 2, 2018 1:00-2:00 PM

Salon B

Helping Students and Employees Tell Their Stories Stacy Brandt - San Diego COE

We all want to tell those powerful stories that highlight the great work going on in the classroom, but sometimes it’s easier and more impactful to let the students or employees tell their own tales. In this session, we’ll explore ways to get content directly from employees and students as well as some of the ways to use what you get. We’ll discuss some of the tactics the San Diego COE’s Communications team has used to collect engaging content, including classwork, art, photos, and first-person stories.

2:10-3:10 PM

Salon CDE

School PR 100C: Crisis, Media and Demonstrating the Value of PR Trinette Marquis-Hobbs, APR - SchoolPRPro

We’ll finish the final session with a focus on being prepared when a crisis hits, creating positive and accountable relationships with media, and ensuring that you are collecting and reporting the information that demonstrates how valuable PR is to the organization.
