Research People of Greece Greek people are recognized for their friendliness and kindness to strangers. Greece is still one of the few places where you may be invited into a local’s home as a guest, or they may wish to take you out and treat you to a banquet. Greece has proven to be a hospitable and wholesome place that lends itself nicely to a restaurant.

Research Food & Drink Greek cuisine commonly uses olive oil, vegetables and herbs, grains and bread, wine, fish, and various meats. Also important are olives, cheese, and yoghurt. Greek desserts are characterized by the dominant use of nuts and honey.

Final Branding Merchandise – Ouzo & House Wines Greeks drink for enjoyment and to have fun. We wanted to serve Ouzo, an anise-flavored drink widely consumed in Greece, in a uniquely shaped bottle and specialty house wines to give Kyklos a more authentic feel.

Final Branding Merchandise – Spices In our retail space, we provide three commonly used spices in Greece: Cardamom, Cinnamon, and Anise.

Final Branding Specialty Wind Chimes Using ‘kefi’ as our inspiration, which translates to the spirit of joy, we created a special spot in our restaurant where customers can participate in traditional Greek plate smashing. Kyklos reuses the plate shards to create beautiful and unique wind chimes; for sale in our Doro retail space.

Final Branding Carry-Out & Retail Packaging Here we have samples of Kyklos’s to-go boxes, wine and carryout bags, all made from recycled materials. These are ethically sourced to provide cost effective packaging without compromising on quality, design and functionality. Our packaging is carefully selected in biodegradable, recyclable or reusable options. Food safe and easy to brand.

Final Branding Waitstaff Uniforms Black, simple, and clean was the direction we chose for our waitstaff uniforms. They are contemporary and comfortable, but still very professional. They are also made from 100% organic cotton.

Final Branding Envelope & Business Card We wanted to be distinct in our design, we went with a sleek vertical design for the business card and a side flap for our envelope. Our letterhead and envelopes are printed on a 100% post-consumer waste, FSC Certified paper and we also use zero-VOC inks. (The Forest Stewardship Council label ensures that the forest products used for their paper are from responsibly harvested and verified sources). 33

Interior Design Mezzanine When you visit Kyklos for just a snack and a drink with a cozy Greek feeling, the lounge upstairs, Taverna, is the ideal place for you. It has a small bar and a comfortable sofa where you can sit as a group or intimately separated. The mezzanine is also wheelchairaccessible via the elevator.

Interior Design Kitchen & Bar The open kitchen and bar are situated on the right side of the restaurant. These are connected so you can experience the social Greek way of dining together and making contact and conversation with people. You can even see how the chef prepares your dinner. Connected to the open kitchen is the storage room for dishes, food, dining materials (like cutlery and plates), and retail goods.

Interior Design Front Dining Area On the other hand, if you appreciate a more private and quiet dinner with your family or partner, there is an intimate dining area situated on the left side of Kyklos. The long wall is used as a display for all the retail products. Also, a back terrace is located behind the kitchen and bar where you can enjoy a pleasant, quiet dinner when the weather is nice.

Interior Design Terrace Model If you’d like some summer ambiance, the front terrace is ideal for you. Every table in the restaurant gets a number of free plates to smash into a million pieces in a designated area on the terrace. The fragments are collected every night and used to make wind chimes in the retail space. People are always welcome to join the workshop and make their own wind chimes before or after dinner. This platethrowing spectacle will be easily noticeable from the sidewalk when you pass by the restaurant.
