Meeting with the

Indigenous Amazonians

DAY 4. AMAZON - FINAL DESTINATION Breakfast at the reserve. At the scheduled time transfer by boat to Leticia to take the flight to the next destination.

A program designed to experience the relationship between a culture and their environment. This is a tour where you will have the chance to explore the Amazon Rainforest and witness the efforts of indigenous communities working for the benefit and preservation of their environment and culture. In Leticia, the capital city of the Amazonas department, we will take a boat to the Calanoa Nature Reserve, where we will visit its gardens and learn about a conservation project. The program includes a walk in the jungle during the night and the visit to the indigenous community of Mocagua, as well as a boat trip on the Amazonas River looking for pink dolphins. We will also listen to the songs of the Tikuna children who belong to the Vergel indigenous community.

DAY 2. AMAZON Breakfast at the reserve. Today we will pay a visit to the indigenous community of Mocagua. The Calanoa Foundation has developed a setting to integrate the Mocagua community in their conservation projects. A very special one was the painting of murals aimed to recover the myths and legends of the community. We will continue the day with an afternoon fishing activity at the port. We will then sail along the Amazon river in search of the pink dolphins. Accommodation. DAY 3. AMAZON Breakfast at the reserve. In the morning we will visit the Vergel community (a Tikuna indigenous tribe). There, we’ll have the opportunity to visit the school and share some time with the children and enjoy their chants. After lunch, we will go on an expedition into the reserve to observe trees with gigantic roots, medicinal plants and the flora and fauna of the high forest land, among other wonders of nature in the region. At the end of this activity, a canoe will be waiting for us to take us down the Matamata Fall to an expedition along the flooded rainforest. Make sure not to miss this great experience. Return to the reserve. Accommodation.

DAY 1. AMAZON Upon our arrival in Leticia a boat will take us to the Calanoa Natural Reserve in the heart of the Amazon forest. Once settled we will have a talk about an initiative that aims to contribute to the conservation of biological and cultural diversity of the region. After dinner we will take a night hike through the reserve. Accommodation.
