Where we are today

In 2007 the US economy took a massive hit and the real estate market crumbled. Urban home owners all began searching for a way to make up for their lost value. Joe Grunnet had the answer, and started DRG on the premise of focusing solely on the condo and loft market. He developed a team of leasing agents to work along side of him in order to offer a second option for prospective clients. As the downtown market became more popular, Joe brought on a team of agents to help keep up with the demand of the buy/sell market. Success did not come without adaptation and it wasn’t long before DRG became a full-fledged real estate agency exclusively working in the Minneapolis condo/loft market.

We’ve made a home in the North Loop and love where we live. So we’ve encouraged others to do the same. We’ve adapted to selling a lifestyle in which we can all live, work and play within close proximity to our urban homes. We’ve remained small and humble, regardless of our successes and plan to remain a boutique-style company. We’ve climbed to the top of the market and share the highest rankings with the biggest names in the real estate world.

Your goals play an important role in everything from setting a price, to deciding how much time and money to invest in preparing to sell. Prioritize what’s most important to you–Is it the money you walk away with? The length of time on the market? The answers to these questions will determine the approach we take.

The best way to get to know your competition is to identify features that are popular and learn what buyers want. Plan on spending a few weekends touring other homes on the market to learn what other sellers are asking. Make note of the floor plan, condition, appearance, lot size, location and other features.

Nearly two-thirds of the people who sold their homes independently say they wouldn’t do it themselves again, according to the National Association of Realtors®. Sellers shared difficulties in setting a price, marketing handicaps and liability concerns among primary reasons they would turn to a Realtor.

As a rule, buyers want the greatest property for the least amount. Knowing what motivates your buyer enables you to negotiate more effectively. Maybe your buyer needs to move quickly or the maximum budget is just below asking price. Knowing this information puts you in a better bargaining position.

Our PRICING GUIDELINES Perhaps the most challenging aspect of selling a home is listing it at the proper price. It’s one of several areas where the assistance of a skilled real estate agent can pay for itself. too high or too low?

If the listing price is too high, you’ll miss out on a percentage of buyers looking in the price range where your home should be. There is a flaw in thinking that you’ll always have the opportunity to accept a lower offer. Most buyers will write off your property immediately once they see that it’s overpriced. Often times they won’t even bother to take a look at it. By the time the price is corrected, you’ve already lost exposure to a large group of potential buyers.

Experience is critical

When working with a real estate agent, it’s critical that you have full confidence in that agent’s experience and education. A skilled, knowledgeable agent should be able to explain to you exactly why your home needs to be priced at a certain level – compared to recent listings and sales of homes similar to yours. There is nothing worse than walking into a home covered in dust or pet hair. Some homes even have a certain smell keeping you less than interested. A deep clean is step one to getting a home ready to sell. In a competitive sales market, why would an eager buyer waste time viewing a house that needed elbow grease? A less than spic and span home could also signal that other maintenance in the house hasn’t been kept up. Don’t forget that a house that doesn’t show well will often take longer to sell, costing you money in the long run.

With your net profit being our biggest priority, we have teamed up with professional interior designers/stagers to take your existing home and arrange in to the best of its ability. There are often the recommendations to paint a wall or two…or maybe simply purchase flowers/decor but, your best interest is always in mind. This is sometimes a difficult conversation to have, as some homeowners are attached to their personal belongings. We must remember that we are trying to appeal to a wide audience; the goal is to sell as quickly as possible for the highest dollar amount.
