Christmas gift of inspiration Natalia Barbour explains how your christmas gifts and break this year could change the look of your house in 2013

e are so very busy at this time of year. My favourite time is just after the hustle and bustle is over, when everything suddenly stops still for a moment to recoup and recharge, make New Year’s resolutions and plan which direction to proceed in next. We are all hoping to change our lives for the better. Why not start at home? The best way to make your house truly yours is to think outside the box – be individual. Experiment and play, blend styles and ideas and be proud of the result. Colour is an obvious starting point. It requires minimum effort and creates a major impact. Take inspiration from your favourite holiday spot, movie scene or that special object you have been cherishing for years but haven’t displayed because it doesn’t ‘go’ with anything. Here are some ideas to fan your creative flames and inspiring suggestions on how you can easily make it work. I hope these images will inspire you to pick up a paint brush in the new year and make your world brighter and happier place.
