DEDICATED COVERAGE FOR THE ONES WHO NEVER QUIT

Our annual fireworks show is back, and things are really looking up. It’s back! For the last year, our fireworks show has been "in quarantine." But the USAA Freedomfest is back, and it will better—and safer—than ever. The event will be Saturday, July 3. This year’s show will be a little different. This will be a drive-in style event, and guests will park at a designated space on the airfield ramp. The view will still be great, and you and your family will be safe and comfortable. Feel free to bring your lawn chairs, blankets, food, and small coolers. Glass containers and grilling are not permitted. (Due to the pandemic, we do not plan to have the usual group activities at this time.)   More details to come later. Mark your calendars now to watch the most exciting fireworks show in the area!

News & Notes

Nautical Mile Winners Announced The Nautical Mile Challenge Presented by GEICO Military concluded in March. More than 30 participants tested themselves in an event that combines running, basic exercises, and a difficult Joyner sandbag workout. Our fastest female was Maggie Joyner, who finished in 14:37. Our top male performer was Johnmichael Gonzales, who finished in just 11:50. Our overall team winner were members of FRC West. The average completion time was about 16 minutes. The times for Maggie and Johnmichael have been submitted to the Navy Region Southeast, where they will be compared against results from the Region. For their efforts, each participant received a GEICO drawstring bag and a Challenge Coin. Our top finishers also received a gift card. Congratulations to Johnmichael, Maggie, and to all the participants.
