Beginning this month, we are offering sailing lessons on Lake Worth. Better yet, the lessons are just $35 each—a fraction of what you would pay for instruction at a private club. Classes will be taught in two-hour sessions and are open to anyone with base access-minimum 8 years old. Your instructor will determine how many lessons you need to be approved to sail on your own; you might be ready to take the helm after several lessons—or maybe after just one! Once you have been approved by the instructor, you’ll be eligible to receive one free sailboat rental, a $25 value. Click here to see the course schedule [LINK coming].

MWR has a variety of boats available for rental, everything from small fishing craft to boats with 150-hp engines. Fishing boat rentals start at just $50 a day, with the largest boat renting for just $320 daily. And what’s she doing with that paddle? For those who like a calmer experience, Community Rec also has canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards for rent. And in the coming weeks, they’ll be offering classes in kayaking, stand-up paddling and sailing. To learn more about Community Rec’s extensive supply of outdoor equipment and eligibility, just stop by Bldg. 3328 or call 817-782-5519.
