BENEFITS OF PA R T N E R I N G W I T H BWISE

Last November we introduced the BWise Partner Program to our North American customers at our annual summit and the immediate feedback from the audience was, “This is the most effective partner strategy in the industry!” Our customers immediately recognized the benefits this program affords them such as the continuous availability of local certified BWise consultants who can serve BWise customers. In addition to BWise expertise, our partners bring deep Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) and industry knowledge.

As a result, we see that our customers expect more of our partners than simply providing the implementation. Partner consultants help BWise customers prepare projects by defining and/or refining the risk and control frameworks, serve as program manager and perform post-implementation duties. They even help customers expand the platform across the enterprise over time, thus guiding customers on their GRC Journey, making GRC tools actionable and showing the benefits of an integrated GRC approach.

with technology requirements has required GRC consultants to broaden their scope of consultancy. Historically consultants were asked to help organizations define their risk and control framework before a software solution was implemented. Now we see that customers expect that a standard framework, based on best practices, is part of the pre-configured GRC software solution. Customers prefer that the consultant, who helped the organization to define their risk and control framework, also rolls out the practical GRC solution and guides them to the next step in the GRC Journey.

KPMG OFFERS UNIQUE GRC SOLUTIONS POWERED BY BWISE strongly believe that by developing content for specific industries or specific GRC issues our joint proposition to our clients is unique in the marketplace. As KPMG we are not just delivering methodologies and BWise is not just selling a tool. Together we deliver a real high-value solution that is easy to deploy.“ Q: Could you tell us something more about these joint solutions? A: “For 2014 we identified three joint solutions. We developed a solution for pharmaceuticals which ensures compliance. As regulatory bodies governing the pharmaceutical industry are becoming stricter and regulators more aggressive, regulatory compliance is a key challenge in the pharmaceutical industry (and increasingly also other industries). Some examples are the SEC’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and the UK Bribery Act (UKBA). The BWise technology is based on continuous transaction monitor¬ing from the foremost ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, Microsoft and M3. In addition, KPMG provides the content, rule sets and framework to create a complete solution for FCPA and UKBA compliance. Furthermore we are developing a BWise solution that automatically signals any regulatory changes in the world. Based on an intelligent workflow and with advanced algorithms the impact of the changes is assessed and actions are defined.“

“OUR UNDERSTANDING OF GRC AND DEEP INDUSTRY EXPERTISE IN COMBINATION WITH THE POWERFUL BWISE GRC TECHNOLOGY CREATES A UNIQUE OFFERING TO OUR CLIENTS.” Q: How do you see the partnership evolving in the coming years? This partnership has the potential to create innovative GRC solutions that are relevant and of high-value for our clients. With these solutions we will help our clients manage their GRC agenda efficiently and effectively.”

both equipment leasing and auto leasing. The solution includes a best practice set of internal controls (either for SOX or Internal Control over Financial Reporting). It also includes features like an advanced warning system based on the BWise continuous monitoring solution. This advanced warning system contains a set of leasing dashboards that give our clients real-time insight into the control over their lease processes. Fully-automated, it signals exceptions and triggers a workflow to handle these exceptions. It also includes automatic processes for specific leases e.g. a waiver process for approvals on local deviations from residual value or pricing policies. The KPMG and BWise joint solution for IT Risk enables companies to: 1. Demonstrate a near real-time single view on IT Business Risks in the board room and beyond the IT department 2. Optimize the various IT compliance and governance initiatives into a unified model to reduce the large number of ineffective “silo-ed” efforts and activities 3. Quantify and monitor IT risks using fact-based measurements from IT systems 4. Be proactive in attacking changes in regulatory standards and to anticipate emerging threats 5. Align and integrate the IT Risk function with other risk functions within the organization e.g. internal audit, ERM or compliance and outside like regulators, auditors and business partners.

“And the third solution is an industry-independent IT Risk solution aligned with industry standards like ISF, COBIT, ITIL, ISO and with KPMG’s propriety methodologies completed for Unified IT Compliance, Cyber Security, IT Risk Management and Business Resilience. The role of IT in many organizations has evolved in recent years and is no longer seen as just supporting the business. IT organizations can also differentiate themselves and provide a competitive advantage. So the growing importance combined with the constant and ever-evolving pressures on IT security and IT resilience force companies to redefine and transform methods of attacking IT Governance, Risk Management and Compliance.“

A: “Considering that the partnership started last year, we are in a phase right now of working together to explore and develop the market as well as to create awareness in the market. BWise has been very supportive with this. We have built up a list of joint target customers and in the last 6 to 8 months we have done a lot of work together to build awareness for enterprise GRC.” “For example, we co-hosted a very successful Roundtable in Riyadh with BWise”, continued Mr. Mirza. “During the roundtable, industry experts exchanged best practices, practical advice and experiences about GRC implementations. The Roundtable brought more than 30 C-level Risk Management and Compliance executives from the region together for discussions about the top risks and challenges organizations are facing.”

MR. ZAHID BASHIR

Q: In terms of the partnership with BWise, what is your role and what responsibilities do you manage? A: “We had been looking for the right partner for more than a year when we identified BWise for its Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) expertise. BWise has a dedicated sales director in this region which has helped to develop our partnership. Together with the team we have weekly meetings to explore joint business possibilities and discuss marketing initiatives. The relationship between BWise and Atheeb has developed into a nice partnership that was formalized in 2013 and there is now a strong financial services sector pipeline for 2014. We also see a lot of interest from other industries like the telecom industry. What I have found very important so far is the strong commitment and support from BWise to us as a partner and to this region.”

JOURNEY JOURNEY

Other successful joint endeavors examples are MIRZA the multiple joint meetings and demonstrations of the BWise platform with many prospects resulting in a solid pipeline for 2014. What is great as well, is that due to the created market awareness, we were also invited by the regulators to present at their event. Q: How do you see the partnership evolving in the years to come? A: “We have built a strong partner relationship and we will start to discuss how we can provide localized solutions to serve the need of IT GRC in the Arab region. We see this field as a growing marketplace. Both the IT industry and the technology needs are growing. At the same time we see certain rules and regulations are being implemented rapidly. With BWise, we believe that we have found a strong, long-term partner focusing on mutually building up the business successfully in KSA.

D E V E L O P I N G A S O F T WA R E S O L U T I O N R E Q U I R E S DIFFERENT EXPERTISE THAN BEING ABLE TO IMPLEMENT IT Are you familiar with the catch-22 of enterprise software projects? Typically buyers follow complex selection processes to find that specific vendor who offers the best software technology as well as the best implementation services. However, developing a software solution requires quite different expertise than being able to implement it. So actually it is not possible to have the best of both worlds in the same vendor which also operates globally.

It is and always has been the BWise mission to deliver the best-in-class, state-of-the-art Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) technology. That is why we have invented the BWise Global Partner Network. This network offers our customers access to the best GRC implementation resources in their region. We believe this is not only the best solution for our customers; it also helps us and our partners to focus where we are really good. If you are not yet familiar with BWise you might ask the question, “What makes the BWise® GRC Platform the best GRC technology in the world?” Basically this boils down to five principles.

ISSUE #1

1. ROLE-BASED GRC SOLUTIONS BWise offers the best-of-industry Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) software to help companies worldwide track, measure, and manage key organizational risks, including the risk of non-compliance. BWise develops software for GRC professionals in all the lines of defense to help the company be in control of financial and reputational risks. We offer role-based solutions for people working in Internal Audit, Compliance and Policy Management, Risk Management, IT GRC, Internal Control and Sustainability Performance Management.

2. GRC JOURNEY SUPPORT Today, many GRC platform implementations are driven by the need to automate the requirements of a single regulation, such as Sarbanes-Oxley. Very often the starting point for implementation is a silo-based approach and if other initiatives occur then they start thinking about integration. BWise is developed as one single platform that allows customers to start using BWise for only one or a few GRC initiatives. As all our solutions are part of the single platform, it is easy to extend the platform to the GRC needs of the future. This is what we call the GRC Journey. Applying BWise for a single GRC solution yields substantial benefits immediately. However, customers enjoy even greater benefits when they start streamlining and integrating additional GRC projects.

4. SHARED BEST PRACTICES BWise has customers across the globe in almost every industry. To create our Rapid Deployment Solutions (RDS), we made use of the in-depth knowledge we have gained working with all our customers. By standardizing our best practices we make our experiences available to the GRC community and help other customers use it as a benchmark or baseline for their own implementation. 5 . J O I N T LY- D E V E L O P E D I N D U S T RY SOLUTIONS While the BWise role-based solutions are focused on serving a global customer group, our partners have much more in depth knowledge of specific industries in many cases. Part of the BWise Knowledge Partnership is the option to jointly develop unique propositions in regional markets. Partners can use our technology combined with their knowledge and best practices to develop, sell and implement a pre-configured industry solution.

3 . G R C I N N O VA T I O N At BWise we continue to question ourselvesabout how to make GRC professional’s jobs more efficient, productive and cost-effective. Based on this question we develop our solutions, which have already resulted in unique offerings such as: • Continuous Monitoring and Continuous Auditing – Are both Integrated capabilities. • Embedded Business Process Management - The principal behind our software solution. It offers our customers the ability to identify key processes within their organization, to structure the controls around those processes, and to identify key risks to financial damage or reputation, as well as safety, legal issues and more. • Mobile Apps – Work when and wherever you want, both on and offline while maintaining audit trails.

JOURNEY

Role-based Rapid Deployment Solutions (RDS) – Pre-configured GRC solutions including processes, controls, libraries and pre-defined reports to give GRC implementations a jumpstart. These RDS’s allow customers to quickly implement BWise, use the pre-configured content as a starting point, then configure the gaps at a later time or adapt to this standard. Regulatory Content Providers – Integrated directly in BWise and in the context of your company’s compliance framework, bestin-class content providers send regulatory alerts directly for faster follow up.

With the BWise Global Partner Program, I truly believe we can break through the catch-22 and offer our customers the best of both worlds; GRC software and the best implementation skills. By creating joint solutions with our partners we even go beyond that. The joint solutions offer customers the best-of-industry GRC technology combined with industry-specific knowledge and best practices, including world class implementation services.
