The Magic Bracelet mystically links best friends Angela and Ashley and a cheese-obsessed dog. When Ashley inherits a totem bracelet from a friend who died of Mitochondrial Disease—the same illness she herself battles—the bracelet leads the girls on a mystical journey of discovery in which a new level of friendship, family, and healing is revealed. Academy Award winning writer- Diablo Cody (Juno), adapted Rina’s story into a short film script directed by Jon Poll (Charlie Bartlett). The film stars: Bailee Madison (Parental Guidance), Hailee Steinfeld (Academy Award nominee True Grit), Jackson Rathbone (Twilight Film Franchise), JK Simmons (Juno/Spiderman) and James Van Der Beek (Dawson’s Creek). MAKE A FILM FOUNDATION (MAFF) www.makeafilmfoundation.org MAFF founder Tamika Lamison graduated from The American University with a BA in Performing Arts. Her first screenplay Jar By the Door was a Sundance Finalist and won several awards including the Gordon Parks Indie Film Award and 10k. She then attended the New York Film Academy before moving to Los Angeles where she’s won several Fellowships and Awards in Writing and Directing. In an effort to give back, Tamika created and founded Make A Film Foundation (MAFF), a nonprofit organization that grants ‘film wishes’ to children who have serious or life-threatening medical conditions by teaming them with noted (often Academy Award winning) actors, writers and directors who help them create short film legacies. Presented in partnership with V Foundation

About the filmmaker Jon Poll’s directorial debut was the comedic drama Charlie Bartlett, an unexpectedly sweet story about a high school drug dealer. Jon was an Executive Producer on The 40 Year Old Virgin, and Dinner for Schmucks, he also co-produced Meet the Fockers and Bruno. Poll has also edited many films including Meet the Parents, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, and Austin Powers in Goldmember.
