Alex wishes there were more variety of classes.

We have researched the needs of high school students today and we’re aiming to improve the experience of learning in Minneapoils, Minnesota, a place filled with its own problems and oppourtunites.

Alex accounts for all students in high schools.

High school students have a variety of different priorities and needs and it’s important to be inclusive with design interventions.

Movement and the mind.

Comfortable and engaged educational spaces

The brain consumes 20% glucose derived energy and brain function, like thinking, memory, and learning is closely linked to glucose levels. Our bodies rely on exogenous nutrient supplies, so it is important that we are fueling with healthy, nutritious foods.

It is recommended that high school students participate in at least 60 minutes of physical activity per day. There appears to be a correlation between increased physical activity and improved academic performance.

Environment, structure, and vibe that promote a mutually respective, communicative relationship between each individual student and the teacher which is essential to increased mental wellbeing, behavior and academic commitment.

Insights Respected is not the same as appreciated.

Mental matters matter.

Professional and social relationships, camaraderie, and compresensive networking are essential to educators professional development and appreciation are essential to improving student performance.

Today, high school students feel that they are not receiving the care and attention they need to feel content with their mental well-being. This matters because there is a correlation between mental well-being and improved academic performance in high school students.

Students feel that their learning environment does not present a space of quality and in turn, reflects the expectation of their education. This affects their current studies and future education attainment.

Why can’t high school be fun?

Why can’t we flip high school to be “inside-out?”
