What’s on all weekend Nature’s Library and The Vivarium


Nature’s Library showcases objects from the museum’s collection of taxidermy, plants and fossils in a spectacular setting. The new Vivarium is home to frogs, reptiles and lizards from South America, Australia and Madagascar. Come and find out how the museum plays a leading role in the conservation of some of the world's most endangered amphibians. Double Indemnity


Billy Wilder’s classic 1930’s film noir of the same name provides inspiration for this immersive, psychoanalytic group exhibition, exploring desire, power and complicity. Cornerhouse 70 Oxford Road, Manchester M1 5NH Tue–Sat: 12–8pm, Sun: 12–6pm (14 Sep–5 Jan 2014)

Archive City


Archive City works from a simple premise; the showing of a selection of images as a way of thinking about urban space. The works on show offers contrasting viewpoints of the city, whilst also making unexpected connections. Friday 8th November Project Jam Sandwich


2.30–3.10pm, FREE Project Jam Sandwich is a dynamic quintet founded at the Royal Northern College of Music by prize-winning students who perform folk music from all over the world, arranging it to add their own individual stamp. Sunday 10th November RNCM Saxophone Day A jam-packed day of performances, workshops, VandoJams and other sax events. Highlights include: Jenni Watson & Matt London 6.15pm, Student price: £7 Each year, RNCM Sax Day features a short performance from some of our recent saxophone graduates at the start of their performing careers. This year, it’s the turn of Jenni Watson and Matt London, two highly innovative young musicians who both launch new CDs at this event. VandoJam Finale 9pm, FREE admission, no ticket required
