The Citadel of What? Pastor Gregory B. Drumwright is the founder of The Citadel of Praise. The Citadel is a community of believers whose members put into effect the priorities of God: Relationship within the Lord, His work and Family. Recognizing that our existence as a church body has been mandated and ordained by God, we endeavor to fulfill the call of God on our lives by: Transforming Lives, Enlarge the Kingdom & Equipping. We come together to worship and celebrate the Lord through preaching, singing, dancing, communion, giving, praying, praising, and sharing the Lords word and His works (1 Chronicles 16:27-29). God has sown seeds into our ministry and we will continue to flourish and grow. For we are: REAPING THE HARVEST, SOWING THE SEED, EXPECTING ABUNDANCE TO INTERCEDE (Galatians 6:9). MAY GRACE, PEACE & MERCY BE ONTO YOU!

An Armor- Bearer was a servant who carried additional weapons for commanders. In this case, a church armor-bearer carries the “armor” of a church leader, such as the leader’s Bible. The Bible is considered to be the sword of the spirit. An AB is the spiritual guard ship and service detail of senior church leadership. Generally speaking, Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists Pastors and Teachers may have Armor bearers serving alongside of them as they walk in their calling.

These young men are not only diligent college students but they serve as Pastor Gregory B. Drumwright’s Armor Bearers. If there is one, general and overall rule to follow here it would be to cover the man/woman of God through prayer and physical assistance and accompaniment at all times unless you are released not to do so. The service of an AB does not stop when you are apart from your minister; it is likened unto the ministry work in that it Left to Right: Zachary Tanner, Wendell is on-going. McFarland, Joshua Lee, and Jonathan Degree

Amor Bearers provide an optimum level of service equal to or surpassing that of the Presidential Secret Service. As an AB you will literally “sit at the feet” of the one you are serving. This is safe and is biblical. This is also a necessary part of a ministry rooted in excellence.

Pastor Appreciation Day April 27, 2014 Pastor’s Appreciation Day was organized by Pastoral Care in recognition of an amazing man of God and to appreciate all that he does for the Citadel of Praise and The Citadel Campus Ministry. In honor of Pastor Gregory Brooks Drumwright, a monetary amount of $25 was set aside to sew into his life because he pastor’s without a salary. This $25 was collected from each person in a ministry in the church, which would go toward pastor’s personal needs such as dry cleaning. During service on this Sunday, many students and the director of each ministry gave a testimony or a few words on how pastor has really influenced and bettered their lives. At the end of this a video was shown where everyone then expressed his or her love and appreciation in this video. The service then continued on with a few encouraging words from Pastor himself and ended with a powerful praise and worship session.

Pastoral Care Pastoral care is a ministry, which provides support for our Pastor personally, professionally, and spiritually. Cultivating a spirit of commitment, compassion, and integrity is what we value in serving Pastor Gregory Drumwright as he fulfills his honor to God. We oversee services contributing to recognition of his birthday and pastoral anniversary. In order to alleviate our Pastor’s worries, we assist him in resolving issues of significant concern; consequently, our service to the Pastor enables him to lift his ministry to greater heights, under the direction of God.

MENistry is a group of young men that sing praises to an audience of one! Through rehearsal they were able to connect with God on another level. They spent many nights at PGD house rehearsing, bonding, and growing not only with each other but with God as well. It gave them an opportunity to experience first line ministry and the importance of ushering in the Spirit of God!

The Vision Conference was a time for individuals in the dreamteam and for anyone interested to attend a three day event . During these days it was a time to embrace the vision for the citadel of praise and the citadel campus ministry. It was a time of networking and a time of communication and coming up with new, fresh innovative ideas to help our campus ministry flourish. Our vision is to help bring souls to Christ not just to the ministry. There were guest speakers, all kinds of activities from scavenger hunts to you name it, and great fun and food. It was a time to meet new people!

Prayer Walk 2014

The CCM Prayer walks have given students, faculty, and local citizens the opportunity to be outspoken on the Gospel as they wish. We have recently traveled around, and through, the campus of North Carolina A&T State University praying for God to grace His glorious nation. During each walk, many of the other campus ministries have joined believing that Matthew 18:20 still holds it’s value with the sons and daughters of Christ.

Campus (C3) Crusade The Citadel of Praise hosted its first Campus Crusade (C3) this year from April 23-25th, 2014. The Crusade consisted of three days chock filled with some amazing events that were blasts of fun. On the first night of April 23rd, they held a powerful Word On Wednesday (W.O.W.) bible study night. Not only did they have bible study, but they also managed to perform an encore of Pastor Drumwright’s play, “The Blood Still Works.” The storyline follows the main character, a local rouse-a-bout or thug by the name of… He’s mischievous and often getting into trouble and …. Ends up getting arrested for….During his court case, he hears the voice of God telling him to “Plead the Blood” over his life in the midst of his court hearing. He adheres to God’s voice and ends up with only receiving community service instead of a life sentence! He runs into Demetrius and convinces him that he should get back into church and get closer to God before his diagnosis of AIDS. He goes to church and after pleading the blood; God gave him a blood transfusion. His test results had changed and he’d become negative.

1 John 5:6 says, ‘This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.’

C3 Day 2 The second day of the Crusade on April 24th, consisted of another empowerment service that took place in McNair Auditorium. The musical group, Sacrifice, performed some magnificent songs that managed to get the crowd moving. Prophet Devon was the special guest speaker, who had come to give a sermon entitled, “Exercising Your Rights.” They shifted the atmosphere and allowed God to come into that auditorium with His mighty power. It was an amazing night! God had severed chains of bondage, cast out spirits of rebellion and witchcraft, drew His people closer to Him and ultimately delivered many souls with His righteous Right Hand Isaiah 41:10 says, ‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'

CCM held is first Campus Cabaret on Friday, April 25th at the beautiful Gateway Gardens! It was an candlelit and round table outdoor affair! It had a Great Gatsby feel to it as they listened to the UNCG Roaring 20s band play. Later that evening, Pastor Drumwright had played and sang on the keyboard with his crew as they played a number from their “Spiritual Chocolate” set. The event was a success. People danced, ate, mingled, and had a great time! Ecclesiastes 8:15 says, ‘So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of the life God has given them under the sun.’

Circle of Prayer For our fallen aggie, Jermaine Clark

Police found the body of a fallen aggie, Jermane Clark on the night of Wednesday April 30th, 2014. He was 22 years old, a sophomore student majoring in psychology and a football player who attended North Carolina A&T State University. He died in a late night shooting incident that took place at Campus Green. Unfortunately, he died from his injuries and he passes away. Although, He is gone, He will not be forgotten! He will be missed by many people, but they will continue to treasure his memory. The North Carolina A&T State University campus Ministries had joined together to have a remembrance service for Jermane Darnell Clark. They had remembered him and had a prayer service for him at the Bluford circle on NC A&T’s Campus. NC A&T’s Gospel Choir had sang some songs of encouragement for those grieving at the loss of this magnificent guy. Pastor Bill from…, Pastor Drumwright with the Citadel Campus Ministry and … with… all came to prayed over Jermane Clark, his family, friends, people who knew him, and others. Some of his friends managed to give a few words on his behalf as they remembered him and what they learned from him. Although, we lost this beloved aggie, God was able to show some people that life is short and that He will…. As such, 17 people rededicated their lives and souls to God on that day as they remembered their beloved friend. Even in death, He was able to help change peoples lives for the better. We look back and remember him…

When it comes to Christian dating, it may raise a few questions on how we as Christians should go about dating. We asked a single Christian female Jakena Caldwell, a single Christian male Zachary Tanner, and a Christian couple, Brian Cohen and Jachele Parks a few questions about Christian dating. Take a sneak peek behind the scenes and see how these young college students feel about Christian dating. You can see their responses under the questions beside their initials.

Q. How important is God in your Christian relationship? ZT: God is my foundation. He is my guide, my strength, and my Father. Without God I can do nothing. He orders my steps, and is the centerpiece of my life. Since he is the root of me, everything I am connected too must have God as the forefront. The Word of God says in 2 Corinthians 6:14 “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common?" So in all God is very important in my relationships, because if God is not present there is no life, no peace, and no joy in it. JC: BC:!God is the head. With out God there is no relationship, just two people having "feelings" for each that usually goes away after their flesh wants more JP: God is very important in our relationship. I find that since we have accepted Christ back into our lives, we seek Him in everything that we do. He truly is the head of our relationship

Q. What are your standards in a Christian male/female? ZT: My standards in a Christian female are very simple. I want her to be a God-fearing woman. I want her to possess the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, meekness, temperance, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, and faith. I want her to strive to embody Christ as I strive.

JC:

BC:!My standards would have to be obviously having someone who doesn't just go to church on Sundays but needs

to be active and connected to the church especially to the leader.

JP: My standards of a Christian male, he has to have a strong, intimate connection with God, and also be able to help pray me through certain situations.

Q. What is your idea of a relaxing date for a Christian? ZT: My idea of a relaxing date in a Christian relationship is a candlelight dinner with live classical jazz music under the night sky. Maybe even take a walk through the park or sit in the park and just talk and listen to my partners secrets, pain and, goals.

JC: BC:!A!relaxing!date!would!be!going!somewhere!inexpensive!:7)!a!nice!quiet!evening! talking!with!one!another!about!the!things!God!has!revealed!and!has!done!in!our!lives! that!were!once!impossible!to!us.!Possibly!with!some!tasteful!food!and!virgin!drinks JP: My idea of relaxing date for my Christian relationship is a nice cooked meal and Netflix.

35

Q. How do you put aside your fleshly pleasures? Or do you? ZT: It's hard to put aside my fleshly desires but I have been successful in doing it so far. A way I put aside my fleshly desires is one the fear of The Lord. Fearing God and what his punishment could be by pursuing my evil desires is scary enough to not go through with them. Also, once I play with the door of fleshly desires it gives the enemy so much leeway into my life, and that's not something I want to give the enemy. Another thing I do is just cry out to God for help. Everyone gets lonely, everyone has those moments of weakness when they want to hold someone or be held but those are the times when God wants you most. It sounds crazy but I know a couple times I felt lonely during the late hours of the night. I asked God to hold me since I couldn't hold a woman and those were some of the best sleeps I ever had. JC: BC:!Someone has got to be stronger than one another, and honestly I am not that person lol. Keeping your desires a secret never works. You must express your feelings so that both of you can pray together for strength in that weakness as soon as it comes onto you JP: I put my fleshly pleasures by staying prayed up, and if I even feel temptation coming I start praying for strength to overcome that

Q. Do you think it’s wise to date without God’s approval?

ZT: I don't think it's wise to do anything without Gods approval, especially bringing someone that is close to one’s heart and emotions. Sometimes we get so lonely we become impatient with God and jump into something that the enemy meant for evil. It's hard sometimes to wait on The Lord, but I remember that Gods timing is perfect. If I wait on The Lord, he will bless me with what he has made just for me. JC: BC:!NO! God will never tell you something wrong, and the only confirmation you need is if they aren't into God as you are or at least trying to grow with Christ JP: No it is never wise to date without God's approval because the relationship will not flourish without God being the head.

Q. Would you rather date someone in the church, or would you rather date someone in the world? ZT: Now I have a rule that I don't mess with any women in my Church it kind of distracts me from why I'm at Church. Now I don't believe in dating a woman in the world because they are in the world. Honestly I believe I haven't started a relationship with anyone in my Church because I have not been led to. I think it's more likely for a man of God to meet a woman of God in Church rather than in the world. JC: BC: My flesh would choose the world, but I know for my own good a lady in the church is best for me as long as I know she puts God before me and everything else. JP: I would rather date someone who is in church seeking God as I am so that we can be on one accord in Spirit!

Q. What’s your idea of a perfect date? ZT: My idea of a perfect date depends on the woman I'm dating and what she and I can both enjoy. I really can't say what I would do, but I would hope after the date is all said and done we are both going home thanking God for bringing one another in our lives. JC: BC: JP: My idea of a perfect date is just spending time together, nothing that requires a lot of money. 36

Q. Is Christian dating different from worldly ZT: Yes, Christian dating is much different from worldly dating. They both have different principles and different means to an end. In worldly dating it’s about fulfilling ones pleasures and having them physically. In Christian dating I believe it's about getting to know the person spiritually. JC: BC:!VERY! In a regular dating your flesh comes first even if you aren't fully giving yourselves to one another. I believe Christian dating is man datory so that you can have somebody to grow in Christ with, because as humans doing things alone doesn't go to well.!

JP: Yes Christian dating is very different from regular dating!

Q. How often do you include God in your relationships? Daily? Once a week? Once a month? ZT: I try to include God in my relationships. Now I don't know because I don't keep track but sometimes I do pray for the woman God is preparing for me. I know that she is being tested and tried as I am and I pray that she is growing and being strengthened. JC: BC:!HOURLY! He is the head, he must guide us in our decision to continue the relationship and if it needs to end. I've experienced a relationship with and without God and without him the relationship can be hell. With him things always seem to go better and both of us are always happy with each other.

JP: We include God in our relationship daily. We pray together, as well as at night. We talk about the things that God reveals to us or the things that we believe Him to do.

Q. How important is it that you pray together with your partner? ZT: I honestly can't answer this question, I have never prayed with a woman in a relationship. I believe one should pray alone and also pray together while in a relationship. JC: BC:!It is very important to pray with each other, it can be a little difficult if y ou all didn't start out with God as the head of the relationship, but he will gui de your prayers for protection of the relationship from spirits of the world.!

JP: It is so important that we pray together because it keeps us on the right track and focused on God. !
