Poland Amends VAT Regulations: Update from Nair & Co. International Tax Compliance Services Team (Sunnyvale, CA) - The Polish government has made a slew of amendments to the value added tax (VAT) provisions in the second phase, says Nair & Co. which provides international tax consulting for companies expanding overseas. The key amendments are listed below:  

Explanation of “export of goods” including goods dispatched from Poland and also transported out of the European Union. The supply of goods taxed under VAT settled by the purchaser (that is “reverse charge” mechanism is not applicable in the case the supplier is neither established in the county nor has a fixed place of business in Poland). New laws also clarify restrictions on input VAT deductions. There are regulations regarding the free-of-charge supply of goods. Description of ‘building land’ included. Introduction of 0% VAT rate on intra-Community supplies of goods.
