Faculty Program Overview NAESP Professional Faculty is a cadre of leadership experts who provide service to schools, districts, and organizations through training, facilitation, and consulting. Each faculty member is highly-skilled in working with program and leadership development through customized presentation and facilitation. The content and delivery strategies are aligned to current research and best practices through: • audience engagement • guidance in skill building • adult learning • change process Continual examination of the work, feedback from audiences, reflection from personal experiences, and peer review are management techniques leveraging the cutting edge skills to meet the needs of an audience. The NAESP Faculty provides training for programs, such as: • The National Principal Mentor Program • Afterschool and Summer Learning • Rigor Workshops • Diversity, Equity and Equality Seminars • Pre-K-3 Institutes • Critical Skills for Effective Coaching • And other leadership development opportunities for principals, aspiring principals, and school administrators. Programs are developed in coordinated efforts with our clients to clearly identify the outcomes that are essential to meet local needs. The NAESP Professional Faculty is embedded in the trademarked NAESP National Principals Resource Center which offers many services and benefits to members, from professional development, leadership resources, programs, consulting services, publications, and relevant current information on issues and subjects that affect school leaders.


Meet the Faculty Tina Acker, M.Ed. More than 20 years as an educator with specialized expertise in coaching and mentoring, as well as international education.

Nancy Phenis-Bourke, Ed.D. More than 30 years of experience in organizational development, effective group facilitation, and principal leadership.

Susan Bridges, M.Ed. Current elementary school principal with extensive experience in building school culture, strategic planning, staff development, and community engagement.

Carol Riley, M.Ed. Specializes in state and district mentor/ coaching programs and group facilitation.

Jerenze Campbell, Ed.D. Nationally recognized educator, mentor, coach, and instructional leader. Specializes in inspiring the next generation of leaders with an expertise on high quality school leadership.

Kathleen Sciarappa, Ed.D. More than three decades of principal experience with facilitation and training expertise in mentoring and coaching, K-12 Academic Rigor, leadership simulations, supervision/evaluation, pipeline leaders, principal networks, and workplace bullying.

Michael Chirichello, Ed.D. More than 40 years as an educator in urban and suburban districts and a nationally acclaimed consultant and author on topics related to leadership, highly effective teams, organizational change, curriculum design, and mentoring.

Alice Shull, Ed.M. More than 35 years of experience in education with expertise in coaching, mentoring and developing leadership, and collaborative practices.

Lydia Davenport, Ed.D. More than 28 years of experience in education with a focus on professional learning and leadership development. Adam Drummond, Ed.D. Expertise in early childhood education, strategic planning, mentoring, and instructional design. Molly Funk, Ed.S. Specializes in school improvement and reform in urban schools, educator effectiveness, and early literacy. Galen Hoffstadt, M.S. Nationally recognized educational trainer with specializations in mentoring, critical thinking, instructional strategies, and strengths-based leadership. Susan Kennedy, Ed.S. Specializes in helping effective leaders learn to employ networks for strategic purposes and helping students with career readiness. Nancy Flatt Meador, Ed.D. Nationally recognized expert on educational leadership with expertise in building leadership capacity, school culture/climate, team building, and advocating for equity and equality education on the state and national levels.

Charles Shultz, M.A. Provides professional development training in the areas of educational leadership, principal and teacher evaluation, crisis response, leadership in times of crisis training, as well as mentors educational leaders as a nationally certified principal mentor. Susan B. Townsend, M.Ed. Currently the Director of Instruction and Learning Services in the Jackson Intermediate School District (MI) with expertise in educational initiatives, professional learning, leadership, early education, curriculum development, coaching, and mentoring. Derek Wheaton, M.Ed. An award-winning principal on both the state and national levels who specializes in building principals’ leadership capacity in diverse school settings. Dwayne Young, M.Ed. Current elementary school principal with specialized expertise in educational leadership, school improvement, mentoring, and creating sustainable school environments.
