She had told her that she had a new boyfriend she was very keen on with the name Niels. He certainly had a good influence. Suddenly Sascia, her elder daughter jumped in her vision when the phone rang again. “Hello, Mom, what are you doing this evening?” She told her she would meet Liesbeth. “I must have picked up your thoughts. Mom, I’ve met a very interesting guy and we’re attending a lecture on our sun’s solar flares in connection with our weather patterns. Have you heard anything about them? I believe your friend, Liesbeth, is involved.” “Really? When did you meet this new man?” “Oh, at a friend’s party. Mom, you can’t believe it, he’s interested in all the things the four of us have always discussed at home. Remember, only daddy never got involved......sorry, mom, I said that without thinking. We think about you a lot, you know!” “Oh, darling, you’re right. It did not capture his interest the way it did with us. At least he never condemned it either.” Ingrid was getting a lump in her throat at Sascia’s sadness. Yes, she did miss Jan. The last few months before he had died had been difficult. He had lost the power of speech and he needed a lot of attention physically. She had taken time off work to be with him full-time in the last months when she practised communicating with his higher self mentally, making up all kinds of conversations. It had helped to focus her mind. Creating an affinity on an intimate mental level had fulfilled a desire she had longed for. She convinced Sascia that she was doing very well in Apeldoorn while asking after her twin brother Jeroen. “No, I have no idea where he is. Mom, don’t worry about him, Jeroen needs time to think out for himself if his future is with grandpa’s steel business.
