curling Cindy BISHOP HEAD COACH Canada has many great sporting traditions; most of those are found in the winter months. After hockey the next most popular winter sport is curling. Curling instils a sense of pride in Canadians as we have such a rich history and tradition in the sport. A new tradition of excellence is set to begin at Humber College with the introduction of the Men’s and Women’s Curling team, led by Coach Cindy Bishop.

Coach Bishop joins Humber as one of the most highly accredited coaches at the college. Her credentials speak for themselves as she brings over fourteen years of National and International coaching experience. On the Canadian stage she has served as the high performance coach for both Ontario and New Brunswick. Internationally Coach Bishop has also been the head coach of both the Austrian and Dutch Women’s curling team. She is still very actively involved in curling as she is the curling professional and manager of the Weston Golf & Country Club. Starting a new program at a new school was not without its challenges. The OCAA boasts some of the finest curlers in the provinces. However Cindy managed to lead the women’s team to a silver medal and a dominant regular season. This season the goals are much higher not just for the men but for the defending OCAA silver medal-winning women’s team.
