N-Peace Second Regional Training of the Trainers (ToT) 20-27 November 2012, Bangkok, Thailand
The N-PEACE initiative is pleased to launch its second Regional Training of Trainers (ToT) program. The ToT will be carried out by the UNDP Asia Pacific Regional Centre and the Institute for Inclusive Security, and supported by AusAID, as collaborators of the N-PEACE network. The ToT workshop will be held from 20-27 November 2012 in Bangkok, Thailand. This innovative ToT program will expose participants to Inclusive Security: A Curriculum for Women Waging Peace, which is a unique teaching tool that aims to foster strong coalitions, enhance problem solving skills, bolster confidence, and most significantly result in a concrete agenda for advancing women’s leadership in peace and security. Over the week-long ToT workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn a combination of integrated skills and content methodology, as well as how to adapt and apply the knowledge from the training to a variety of settings. Selected through a competitive process, the participants will become a member of and form the second batch of trainers for the N-PEACE network, and will remain engaged with the N-Peace partners through trainings and other events. Interested participants for the N-PEACE Network ToT must meet the following criteria:
Must be a woman national of (and residing in) one of the following countries: Afghanistan; Indonesia; Nepal; Philippines; Sri Lanka; Timor Leste Speak proficient English; Have previous experience in training on issues related to gender, peace, security and development; Be willing to replicate thematic and skills-based trainings/consultations in an effort to mobilize women peace builders; Have good command of interactive and participatory training methodologies; Have strong communication and inter-cultural skills; Make a commitment to continue working through N-Peace to adapt the curriculum and replicate the training skills learned; Become a member of the N-PEACE network and serve as trainers and resource for N-Peace.
There are a limited number of seats for the ToT program as only 5 trainers will be selected per country and the selection process includes an application and interview process.
