A Month of Learning
Your child will learn about the wonders of nature. They will learn about the kinds of things that grow in nature, what living things need to grow, how living things change as they grow, and the kinds of things that grow on a farm. At home encourage your child to read every day and write sentences about what they have read.
Your child will learn about making and taking apart numbers from 11-19. At home, ask your child to say the numbers from 1-19 and ask them to make the numbers using counters. (Beans or pennies are great counters)
Your child will learn about President’s Day and about the many landmarks in our country. At home, discuss with your child the different landmarks they wish to visit one day.
Your child will learn that animals produce their own kind. They will begin to understand how animals adapt to their environment to survive. At home, ask your child to draw an animal and how it adapts to its environment.
