Bellevue is fast becoming one of the country’s most livable cities where higher education, science, and technology are developing rapidly. To the west, it is a short 10 minute drive from Bellevue to downtown Seattle. To the east, it is another 10 mins drive from Bellevue to the forested mountains that have access to lakes, streams, and hiking trails. The concept of our design is to bring nature into urban high density vertical communities by creating recreational pedestrian streets, multicultural restaurants and shopping, natural roof gardens, and views of the city and the surrounding natural environment. The building design reflects movement and full service facilities for all ages, creating a campus of relating architectural elements. All of these have made ELEV8 Plaza become the largest urban mixed-use projects in the greater Seattle area, and the most notable development for the international community.

Lotus and Crane Square pot is an artifact from the Chun-Qiu era. National treasure of Henan province. Its square shape and upper arc represents the expressions of the “heaven is round and the earth is square”and“Outter square and inner circle”, an important Chinese philosophy. As the core building of the main Zhengzhou area, we try to express a sense of combination of traditional culture and unique architectural form. The whole building is naturally converted from the rounded solid bottom into the Founder Lotus bloom top. Located on the main axis of the city park, the main façade is equipped with “Ssangyong”, which is set up for the modern technology “flying crane”. The top of the cornice is made of modern tiles and is expressed in the form of traditional auspicious ornaments. Whether it is day or night, to show its fine cultural connotation and auspicious blessing of the land of Zhengzhou. The extraordinary height of the main tower and its rounded atmosphere of the shape, together with the north and south of the two symmetrical towers, more of the main tower of the king style, and constitute a “lucky Sambo”, become unique to the new landmark in Zhengzhou. Two towers are conceived by the Western Zhou Dynasty copper square Gu inspiration, Squared top and bottom are naturally extend, not only coordinate with the main tower, but also have there own personality.

As the most important building in the eastern end of the core area of the central park, our planning hopes to maximize the importance and continuity of this main axis. The 369-meter-high tower is located on the main axis, the other two 240-meter-high vice tower is basically symmetrical on both sides of the spindle, which forms “Three Treasure”. The main tower connects with the park through the large platform and grand steps, so that it expands the image and use value of the main park. The Overall Landscape Conception is Inspired by Li Bai‘s Poem “The Water of the Yellow River”. Landscape, ramps, water features and building combined together, the upper and lower space blend with each other.

The garden connects to the shopping center, where the garden create opportunities for restaurants and cafe to create outdoor seatings and activities. At the end of each level is the entry to the expansive shopping center. Here in each of the ascending steps, gradually bringing nature onto the roof top, where flowering wedding garden provide a venue for the couples to share their vows.

The Garden Walk

Curvilinear bridges will transition to park with amenities for sitting and strolling. The park is design to br three-dimensional, inviting the community to experience the parks with plenty of steps and slopes that bring people from B1 sunken Plaza to the Level 2 park. Rich palette of landscape materials, plants, bricks, stone and pavers, with water features sprinkles in between.

CRL Nantong MixC Nantong Jiangsu Province, China 华润南通万象城 Nantong is a city that is famous for the rivers and famous people of China. Reflecting the natural long protruding terrain, design is inspired by the interlaced linear flow of rivers and features of the beautiful valley cliffs. Landscape, plazas, and buildings are organized and blended with the streamline of shopping; building facade materials and textures show the natural conception of the stacked transformation of valleys and palisades that were created by the river flow and erosion through thousands of years. The 270,000 square meters mixed-use development includes an upscale shopping center, an open experiential commercial street, and two towers. Awards: 2014 Commercial Buildings Award Winner, the World Architecture News Awards (WAN) (United Kingdom)

Beijing Lucky Clouds Center 北京祥云中心 This project is designed for North America 555 Company, which is located at Jian Guo Meng Wai Avenue, Beijing. There are so many urban complexes, we hope to make this project express the special uniqueness of Beijing, while creating a strong landmark that reflects the local culture. The 66-story main high-rise building is inspired by the traditional Chinese auspicious patterns of “clouds”. The top provides a seismic water tank that takes the form of gold ingot. These elements are expressed by the latest technologies and materials of building exterior wall. They are designed to bless the business success of this project while leading the direction of Beijing’s future development. In the tradition of business-oriented large urban complexes, we added some new features that meet the demand of the people, such as children/youth education and training center, and traditional pedestrian street of old Beijing.

Suning Beijing Plaza 苏宁北京生活广场 Located on Chaoyang Avenue, the project includes office, business, entertainment and a Suning Electronics Store. The design had to address how to create housing on the north side of the site that met the local requirements for natural sun light. On the narrow and small site, a public plaza space combined with main retail entry is created by making a portion of the first floor cantilever overhead in order to meet different evacuation requirements of the building. The flowing space and form produce a positive energy and a lively atmosphere.

Wuxi Yinhui Center 无锡银辉中心 Wuxi Yinhui Center is located in downtown Wuxi, in the area known as Chong’an Si. The project features 260-meter tall office, and residential towers, over a six-story shopping center. The angular forms of the two towers was designed to ensure each tower has the maximum city view and the minimum view interference with each other. The large luxury apartments represent the noblest living standard of Wuxi. Elements of traditional Chinese street shops mesh with modern Western architectural features; also carry through the indoor public spaces through outdoor stone paving material and boutique storefront window design; with characteristic street names to create a sense of space and a method of navigation. These retail streets with diverse and interesting architectural styles appear as an “unconventional shopping center” in order to attract young people.
