Kalamazoo, Michigan

Kalamazoo, the home of WMU’s main campus, is midway between Chicago and Detroit. With a population of more than 325,000, Kalamazoo is the sixth largest metropolitan area in Michigan and among the 150 largest in the country. It's large enough to support all the amenities and entertainment found in larger cities; and yet, you can be in the heart of farm country in 20 minutes.

One of the Top Places to Live

Money Magazine has twice included Kalamazoo in its annual list of Best Places to Live. Kalamazoo was also on the most recent list published by The Daily Beast of the 25 Best Cities in America for recent college graduates! Kalamazoo is also home to the world-renowned KALAMAZOO PROMISE - a program that guarantees college tuition to graduates of the Kalamazoo Public Schools.
