TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY Senate Bill 45.11 (A Bill to be entitled an Act concerning senator attendance at SORC meetings) WHEREAS, currently every college senator is not required to go to a SORC meeting and, WHEREAS, if you are a senator elected to serve your specific college, you attend every SORC meeting held for your college and, WHEREAS, if you are a senator elected to serve at-large, you will be required to attend the SORC group assigned to you by the chief of staff and, WHEREAS, in addition all senators should be required to go to one other SORC meeting of choice per semester to better educate all senators on how to improve their certain SORC group. THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED, senator attendance will be taken at the same time as club attendance at every SORC meeting and, BE IT FUTHER ENCATED, a record will be kept of mandatory senator attendance and guest attendance that will be submitted to the Rules and Administration committee following each meeting and, BE IT FUTHER ENCATED, the Rules and Administration committee will keep track of all absences and excuses and, BE IT FUTHER ENCATED, absences at SORC meetings will count as a meeting absence. BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, that this Bill be spread upon the Journal and that copies be sent to Dr. Michael Shonrock, Senior Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs; Kevin Cullen, Editor of The Daily Toreador; and to the students of Texas Tech University.
