Southern Zone Athletics Thank you for all the support on Monday. It was great to see the competitive participation of all our children and the encouragement coming from their peers and so many of our parents. I am always very proud of the strong community culture that we have together. School Donation A letter will be coming home in the mail later this week with the details of our school donation request from the Board of Trustees. Our school makes a conscious effort to keep this request realistic. It has been held again at the same level as the previous few years. The support of all families with this request for the year goes a long way to helping sustain the vibrant teaching and learning culture that we have for all our students. The donation request is totally separate from your school account which is an itemised account of actual costs. If you would like to discuss any aspect of this donation then please make the effort to talk to any board member, or myself, about it.

Maths Whizz You may have seen a notice coming home from different classes with details around our roll out of the online individual maths programme that is happening across our school. This is one of the personalised tools in our arsenal for our maths programme. If you have any questions around this then please make the effort to talk to your child's home room teacher or any of the leadership team (Tim, Mark, Evelyn). We will also be available after assembly this Friday in Mark's classroom (Kauri 8) if you want to pop over and catch up. Please note: Your child’s password is case sensitive.

of bookmarking these pages on your phone and/or home computer to keep in touch with what is happening. Newsletter development Irene will be in contact via email to make sure that we have the latest and most relevant email address for you and your family. This is important as it is used as another medium to keep you informed around any last minute details or requests around school events. We will also be using it as we morph our newsletter into a more digital medium. Regards, Tim Lovelock Principal

MATAI 9 (Mrs Polaschek & Mrs Lemin) We had such fantastic day on Monday.  We were very proud of how our children all participated and behaved on the day.  Many thanks to the parents who helped us on the day. • I liked running. Jack • I liked to do the fun stuff. Anyia • My favourite part was throwing. Ella • My favourite part was throwing too. Max We are learning about capacity in Maths this week.   We are comparing the sizes of different containers and checking how much fits in each one.  We are using water and sand to practise this.  If you have any spare plastic containers (ie jam or honey) or cardboard boxes at home we would appreciate these at school.  Please remember that your child needs a school sunhat and it should stay in their cubby each day so they can use it at morning tea time and lunchtime.  Have a great week.

MIRO 5 (Mrs Godby) & RATA 4 (Mrs Aurik) Rawe What a great week we have had so far. We started off with our Zone Athletics Day. Thank you for your support and help on this day. On Friday we had our first day of homework testing and really enjoyed the parent help for this too. The children are settling well into their workshops and are very focussed on working towards their goals. Maths-whizz is up and running so please allow your child to spend some time on this at home. The login and passwords are in their homework books. For information about our class and some photos please have a look at our blog  Evelyn and Natalie

Please feel free to email or pop in if you have any questions.  Rimu • "I came 2nd in the 60m and 100m heats. It made me proud" Carter Dermody ª "In high jump I jumped really high and I nearly kicked one of the people beside me!"
