Best in the Aurus Series! The Aurus 4 looks just about average but has good build quality. It weighs 160 grammes, which is a bit heavy for a 4.5-inch display device but feels reassuringly solid. It is very different than its predecessor when it comes to the design, coming with touch capacitive keys on the front panel unlike the Aurus 3, which had a physical home key. The left side of the device has been kept smooth and the top houses the audio jack and the power key. On the right, one can spot volume keys and the micro USB slot can be spotted at the bottom side. the back panel reveals dual SIM slots and a microSD card slot along with a removable battery. On the sides of the display is a shiny graphite chassis that not only holds the device together but also imparts a classy look to it. The rear camera is located a bit on left side with LED flash and speakers next to it The rounded edges of the device make it comfortable enough to hold and use.

All that in the Aurus 4 comes at a price tag of Rs 8,999, which we believe is decent enough value for money, expecially if you happen to be an Idea user. Those seeking alternatives can check out the Lumia 525 which is retailing at Rs 10,399 and runs on Windows Phonen

The device also tended to be a bit laggy, whether it was due to the 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6572 processor and 512 MB of RAM, we know not. The internal memory of the Aurus 4 stands at 4GB but only 2GB is available for the user, though this can be expanded by another 32GB using a memory card. It comes with two cameras – a main 5.0megapixel snapper at the rear end and a 0.3megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options include GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth, 3G, USB and WLAN. Powering all this is a 1,800 mAh battery which is good enough to keep it running through the day if you avoid gaming for long periods and are relatively careful with mail.

Lots of apps onboard The Aurus 4 smartphone comes with a number of Idea-centric applications like Idea Mall, Idea Fresh, and Idea TV. Idea subscribers can also avail of a number of offers for prepaid as well as postpaid users. The device also comes with Alcatel support, which answers most of your queries and also helps you in understanding the device. There is also a feature called
