This theme connects kids’ passion for sports with their journey of faith, showing them how athletic skills and dedication can be used to make a positive impact and fulfill the unique purpose God has for their lives.
Just as athletes dedicate themselves to rigorous training with the goal of reaching the world’s biggest competitions, Mission Cup teaches kids to live “on mission.” Like the soccer stars who compete on the world stage, kids will be challenged to develop qualities that make a lasting impact: to show focus on what truly matters, respect to others, humility in victory, endurance in challenges, and leadership in uncertainty.

RECREATE THIS AWESOME STAGE DESIGN FOR YOUR VBS!
This year’s theme, Mission Cup, invites kids to see their sports as an opportunity to make a difference, just like athletes who train and compete on the world’s biggest stage! We wanted our stage to capture the excitement and energy of a world championship stadium with bright lights, roaring fans, and that feeling that something amazing is about to happen!
BANNER BACKDROP
The heart of our design is this stadium backdrop, created using three large Mission Cup banners that you can purchase from GospelPublishingHouse. com (p. 14). We mounted each one onto 8-by-4 foot foam boards and secured them with push pins to keep everything smooth and seamless. These banners instantly set the tone, making your stage feel like the center of a major competition.
We hung them side by side to create the full look of a packed crowd cheering from the stands. The bright colors, waving flags, and fans holding up signs help kids feel like they’re stepping right into a real arena!
To top it off, we added black tablecloths and draped soccer goal netting over them for an extra layer of texture and gameday flair.
STADIUM PIECES
We started by duct taping astro turf to the floor to create a green field across the base of the set. It instantly brought the look together and gave us that on the field feel.
Above the banners, we built stadium lights using PVC pipes, dowel rods, disposable pie plates, and tissue paper. We attached the pie plates to the dowel rods using a hot glue gun, then connected the dowel rods to the PVC with zip ties. Finally, we secured the entire structure to our banner stands, again using multiple zip ties to make sure everything stayed in place. These light towers add height, dimension, and that realistic game day excitement!
All these pieces come together to create the full stadium experience, a place where every kid can feel like they’re part of something exciting and purposeful!
STADIUM ACCESSORIES
We used benches, coolers, cones, soccer balls, pennant flags, and water bottles to fill in the space and make it look like a true sideline setup. We also made team signage using colored bulletin board paper and poster markers.
ADD THE FINISHING TOUCHES
Finally, we added our MEGA Point banners to give extra color and dimension to the set (page 14).
These are perfect for filling in empty space and reminding kids of the MEGA points they’re learning each day.

Carry your Mission Cup theme through everything at VBS, including your snacks.
MISSION FUEL GOODY BAGS
We packed each bag with fruit, water, a granola bar, and a nutritious snack. Make it even more special, with a MEGA Sports Camp pencil or keychain and mini trophy cup tied to the handle.
SOCCER FIELD PUDDING CUPS
Simple but creative, these pudding cups are a hit! Use ready-made pudding, pipe green icing on top to look like grass, and add a soccer ball topper for the finishing touch.
GOAL CELEBRATION CUPCAKES & COOKIES
For a ready-made option, try soccer-themed cupcakes and cookies. They add color, excitement, and a sense of celebration—the perfect way to wrap up a week at camp!
CHAMPION’S POPCORN MIX
We used soccer-themed popcorn cups and filled them with popcorn, mini chocolate chips, mini marshmallows and mini sandwich cookies for a sweet and salty treat. It’s quick, inexpensive, and always a crowd favorite.
POWER PLAY KABOBS
For a healthy, easy-prep idea, layer turkey, cheese, and your choice of fruit on soccerthemed skewers for a colorful, energizing snack.
TEDDY ON THE FIELD GRAHAM CRACKERS
Here’s a fun, hands-on snack. Start with graham crackers, spread green icing for the field, pipe white icing for field lines, and add a Teddy Graham player along with a foil wrapped chocolate soccer ball. It’s creative, playful, and fits right into your Mission Cup theme!
We love how these snacks bring the Mission Cup theme to life, helping kids stay energized while learning what it means to live on mission for God.

ACTIVITY IDEAS
Team Flags. Create unity within your teams by having the kids color a Team Flag. Use one of our Colorable Flags (page 17) with fabric markers. The kids can proudly hang their flag in their sports area, and even give their team a name.
Team Jesus T-Shirt. Proudly show the impact your MEGA Sports Camp has on your community. As your kids make the decision to ask Jesus into their hearts, have them sign the Team Jesus T-Shirt (page 12). Hang or display in your church’s lobby or in the kids’ area to show your church how many kids chose to follow Jesus.
Colorable Backpacks. Hand these out after registration your first day. Kids can color and customize their own MEGA Sports Camp backpacks (page 15). A great memento from their time at MEGA Sports Camp and handy to carry all their stuff in.
