method 2 piece with back and vamp closed seam. left open from instep to allow foot entry. raw edge 2 piece with back and vamp closed seams. left open just below upper topline. raw edge. 2cm left above topline edge. held in place with stay stitch and sole unit stitching free hand rows of half hitches. pulled tightly as knotted to encourage gathering in surrounding leather. attched with lark heads through punched holes wet moulded by hand. 2cm depth which becomes 1cm at back seam with a gentle U shape, treated with beeswax. slits for sole logo stamp repeated to create tread. can be replaced once worn with different tread sole piece stamped with logo lenthways, bevelled and treated with beeswax double thicknes single stitch across vamp seam single row of 5mm stitches along sole unit

1cm wide back strap stitched with black linen thread and looped at top to hold strap

the inner sole is placed on the base of the last before moulding the sole unit around it. the edge is defined creating a ridge with a bone folder
