We are a community of innovation. It can be seen in the new Upper School and on-campus residence hall, in the 1-to-1 iPad initiative, and in the evolving 21st Century curriculum that emphasizes a personal, experiential, and global education for students. We are also proud of our rich history preparing students for their best opportunities in college and beyond, and we hope you will be part of and contribute to that tradition. DIRECTOR OF ADMISSION

Admission Process The steps for applying to Maumee Valley are outlined below. Admission is selective, however we work with families in the spirit of evaluating to see if our school is the right fit for each student. We welcome a talented, mission appropriate, diverse group of students to the Maumee Valley community.

STEP 1

STEP 4

COMPLETE THE APPLICATION PACKET

ADMISSION TESTING

All families should complete the Application form and submit the Application Fee ($50 for domestic applicants; $150 for international applicants). Students applying for grades 7-12 are required to fill out the Student Information Sheet. Both forms are available on pages 5-8 in the back of this booklet.

STEP 2 REQUEST SCHOOL RECORDS & RECOMMENDATIONS Please give the Records Request Form on page 11 to the applicant’s current school. In addition, we require one recommendation (on page 9) for students applying to grades K-6 and two recommendations for students applying for grades 7-12.

Maumee Valley requires an admission test for all applicants (except Preschool-Kindergarten). Testing dates are scheduled on Saturdays in mid-November, lateFebruary, and select Saturdays in the early spring. There is no additional fee for admission testing. Students must register with the Admission Office before the testing date. International students are required to submit the TOEFL, SSAT, or IELTS. The admission process must be complete for the Admission Committee to review an application. Maumee Valley takes very seriously the responsibility of working with prospective families and making an admission decision that is in the best interest of the applicant and the school. Upon admission to Maumee Valley families are issued an enrollment contract, which should be submitted with the deposit ($1000 or $300 if family is applying for financial aid) within two weeks.

NOTE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

STEP 3 CAMPUS VISIT All applicants are invited to be a “Hawk for a Day” while visiting classes, spending time with peers, and learning about what it is like to be a Maumee Valley student. Please work with the Admission Office to schedule the visit day, which often includes an interview with the appropriate Division Head. Students living outside the region may do a Skype interview as an alternative to the visit date, however we recommend visiting campus if possible.

International students should submit financial documentation certifying the family is able to pay all yearly tuition & fees. A scanned photocopy of the student’s passport is also required. Admitted students are issued an I-20 along with an official letter from the Head of School.

Affordability & Financial Aid Process Maumee Valley is not just a program or a curriculum or a school. It is an investment. A gift, the greatest gift, you can give your child. As they develop into young scholars, leaders, and global citizens families appreciate the opportunity to have their student join our community and be part of an incredible network of accomplished alumni. Just as our school is dedicated to the success of each child we are also committed to making Maumee Valley affordable. We offer a variety of payment plans, scholarships, and financial support programs for qualified applicants.

MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS Maumee Valley offers several renewable merit awards to new applicants. Scholarships are based solely on academic potential and other qualifications. Most scholarships are for students applying to grades 6-9.

FINANCIAL AID & GRANTS Maumee Valley has a strong commitment to its financial aid program and to enrolling an economically diverse student body. Financial aid is need-based and is for tuition only. Merit scholarship recipients may also apply for financial aid. All aid is in the form of a grant (does not require repayment) and is for one year only. Renewal is not automatic or guaranteed as funds vary from year to year. Families can apply for financial aid during the process for admission to Maumee Valley. The application is available at www.factstuitionaid.com and Maumee Valley uses FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment to evaluate a family’s need. The online process requires a parent’s financial statement to be completed detailing the family’s current financial situation and estimating the income and taxes for the next year.

2013-14 TUITION *

Factors taken into account when estimating a family’s financial contribution include income and assets, family size, and number of children attending tuition-charging institutions, including colleges and universities. The system protects an allowance for basic living expenses based on family size and other fixed expenses such as taxes. The family is expected to contribute a percentage of the remaining “discretionary income” for private education. The financial aid process is strictly confidential and has no bearing on the admission process.

PAYMENT PLANS Maumee Valley offers extended payment plan options (three payments or 12 monthly payments) through FACTS Tuition Management. All payments must be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account. For an additional fee, payments may be charged to a credit card.

SCRIPT PROGRAM Major national and regional retailers sell gift cards to Maumee Valley at a discount. These cards are purchased by Maumee Valley families through the school at full price. The discount is then applied to the specific student account.

*Tuition is set in January. Last year tuition increased a modest 3.2%
