Alas Mataram is the center of the Mataram Islamic Kingdom in Indonesia. The location of this area is in Kotagede, Yogyakarta, precisely in the area of Jl. Mondorakan arrived at Jl. Watugilang. This corridor is a heritage area that has seven cultural reserves that are interrelated with the background of the story of Alas Mataram written in the Babad Tanah Jawi. Opened with the victory of Sultan Sutawijaya after fighting against Kl, which later became a fertile, rich and peaceful city. However, along with the development of the place and the economic acceleration that is high in the area, it has experienced an uncontrolled shift in function which has caused the fading of the characteristics of the area. Through the story of the Babad Tanah Jawi in the Alas Mataram chapter as a guide for designing through elements that can be applied to support the preservation of the Kotagede area.
