Moniek Darge (°1952 – BE) studied music theory and violin at the Music Conservatory of Bruges, painting at the Ghent Royal Academy of Fine Arts and Art history, Philosophy as well as Anthropology at the Ghent University. She is active as composer, violinist and performer. In addition, she specialised in both soundscapes and live-art performances in which visual and musical aspects are combined. Ever since 1970 she is active on stage, first with the Logos Ensemble, then with Logos Duo, and more recently with the <M&M> robot ensemble. Moniek Darge built light- and sound sculptures, installations, musical instruments and since many years she is constructing a series of alternative music boxes with which she also performs. In 1997 she received the title of Cultural Embassador of Flanders for the Logos Duo. Moniek Darge published several journalistic and literary essays. Many international magazines published her articles. Besides her countless concerts, performances all over the world and activities as organiser, Moniek Darge is professor at the Hogeschool Gent where she teaches Art History, Audio Art and Non
Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten en het Koninklijk Conservatorium te Gent. Ook aan buitenlandse universiteiten geeft zij als gastdocente regelmatig voordrachten.

Moniek Darge (°1952 – BE) studeerde notenleer en viool aan het Muziekconservatorium te Brugge, schilderkunst aan de Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten te Gent en Kunstgeschiedenis, Filosofie en Moraalwetenschappen aan de Gentse Universiteit. Ze is hoofdzakelijk actief als componiste, violiste en performer. Hiernaast specialiseerde ze zich als medebeheerder van Stichting Logos in soundscapes en live-art performances. Tevens is ze lid van het <M&M> robotensemble, het uitgebreide Logos Ensemble en het Logos Duo. Moniek Darge bouwde licht- en klanksculpturen, installaties, muziekinstrumenten en werkt sinds jaren aan alternatieve muziekdoosjes die ze ook in performances gebruikt. In 1997 kreeg zij met het Logos Duo de titel van Cultureel Ambassadeur van Vlaanderen. Moniek Darge schrijft regelmatig artikels voor publicaties en organiseert eveneens tentoonstellingen.
