Deejay! AND Sound As a Pound! * + Jean Genie With live entertainment on stage from the up and the coming;

Bruised Beauties: 'Brilliant! Pounding with energy' - Tom Robinson 6Music.'. Three pretty boys and two pretty girls. They take their fascination of the rise and fall of their beloved Britain with a giant helping of catchy toe-tapping melodies and a massive splat of verve, amid their adoration of Bowie, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Nick Cave and the Stones. “..a theatrical, leather-clad lot, rebuilding rock and roll brick by brick' – Tour Dates Magazine. Recently played on BBC Kent Radio's show and currently performing at sweaty high profile venues such as the 02 Academy Islington, Monto Water Rats and Camden Barfly. “the crazy indie kids to watch" - BBC Introducing Stage, Sellindge Festival.

Edit/Select : A young musical gang from art beat of London‟s lower south east side – in yer face newer wave pop charm and pro-active creation. Fresh out of the traps, “They‟re rather good” according to Xfm‟s John Kennedy and have already played the legendary Astoria II. They found themselves on the same bill as Motorhead, Happy Mondays, Athlete etc at Guilfest 2009 and in demand at creative gatherings like the 30,000 strong Peoples Day Festival. If its about new music from promising young upstarts, EDIT/SELECT have got big ideas and invite you to join the campaign.

The Woods:

A 4 piece from Croydon, South London. The band have played at a number of venues, with more to come through-out the year. In December they supported Florence and The Machine at Brixton Jamm. It was a massive success and included a mixture of stage invasions and celebs including Nick Grimshaw and Jamie T, Pixie Geldof, and Alice Dellal. "...The Woods... tight, funky rhythm sectioned new wave... smart musicianship mixed with an eagerness to promote what they do (lovin the advert for the forthcoming Dirty South gig - Feb 27th with Edit/Select - on the pool table blackboard) makes The Woods an outfit to keep an eye and ear on." If you go down to the woods today you‟re in for a big surprise

GAOLERS DAUGHTER : No serious 2010 tips bill would be complete without the guitar frenzy cap of the capital sound of Gaoler's Daughter. With The Only Way To Travel EP already picked up Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson etc and a Babyshambles tour under their collective belt, it‟s looking well promising.

DYNAMO GARAGE : On the ones to watch radar of Dazed n Confused and John Kennedy, steam punk inspiring dandy ruffians with guitar sculptures. Currently recording a new EP for release in April.

THE SCREENBEATS : Mod pop tinged new wave from Berserkshire causing a stir, with BBC Introducing sessions etc , and a cool live presence for their hooky tunes.

"Red Cable Sunday brings the ol' johanna back into fashion, tickling the ivories (and ebonies!) to great effect while performing a self-scored, gershwin inspired yet politically motivated instrumental tune" (Resonance FM) for the bigger piecture; - which is where being part of the Rocklands Art Beat movement comes in...

For info/to book; I(HEART)..Music Promotions Presents: KID BRITISH This new night to Dirty South (SE13) has been delivering to the London live scene some incredible nights since September and has now found the home it has been searching for all this time. With the venues reputation and the ever growing attention this event has obtained from both bands and live music lovers alike, this new relationship will no doubt take this party to the next level Starting as the mean to go on, expect a line up of incredible bands, none more so than headline Kid British. This four piece from Manchester are one of the must see bands of current times, with a riotous live energy and performance. Kid British say they are a result of the i-Pod generation, being influenced by all styles of music. This is apparent in their style, a goo-ey mixture of The Specials, Outkast, Madness, De La Soul, Gorillaz and Blur. They deliver a razor sharp lyrical wit that has had them compared to The Streets and Lily Allen, but at a time when musicians can take music way too seriously, these boys aren‟t pushing their views onto anyone and are certainly putting the fun back into their musical creations. With a brilliant album released last year, plus a Glastonbury and tours with The Specials and The Enemy under their belt, this is the perfect opportunity to see them up close and personal before they explode in 2010. In addition, there will be some top support from 'Tom Allalone & The 78's' who's album has just been selected by XFM in their list of the best debut albums for 2009, „Spitfire'(formally the Krak) including ex-Babyshambles Drummer Gemma Clarke, plus two local bands believed to have very good times ahead of them 'We are Tides' & 'Hopeless Sons'. This is the first of what we expect to be a great year for I (Heart)? Live at Dirty South. Listen Up! £8 advanced / £12 on the door

The Guardian has called them „the best live band in the country‟. Their music has graced everything from „The Sopranos‟ to „The Simpsons‟, and they can boast a host of celebrity fans. Irvine Welsh, author of „Trainspotting‟ describes Alabama 3 as “the first band I could ever dance to in the daytime hours without chemical assistance...” and the world‟s biggest selling author, Stephen King, has twice invited them to play an acoustic set at his book launches. For the last three years Alabama 3 have been hosting a regular (and very irregular) party weekend, running over two nights at Dirty South and sister venue Brixton Jamm. „Outlaw‟ is not just another club night. It is an event, a happening never to be repeated and not to be missed. Alabama 3 have had a very busy year over 2009, which explains their absence from Dirty South. They released The 12 Step Plan (an album of remixes chosen by their fans) and have been working on their new album Revolver Soul, which will hit the streets this spring. They will be heading off on tour in May, but before that they are coming to Dirty South. The show will be headlined by Alabama 3 Acoustic and Unplugged, who bring a whole new dimension to the songs they‟ve made famous. This isn‟t acid house music, this is country/gospel/delta blues, but played with a rhythm you‟ve still got to dance to. The support will bring together exciting expect live acts performing country, blues, funk, punk and dirty old rock n roll, all cut with an alternative edge, and seamlessly brought together by DJs playing grooves that keep the audience on the floor. Expect the unexpected. 8pm-2am / £8

They have credits from Glastonbury and MTV to Hollywood to take adults 18-80 who want a real Rock'n'Roll experience. They may have toured with The Who, or recorded with Manfred Mann, but they all still get a buzz out of working together with new bands. We rehearse in Southeast London 3 Saturdays in March (6/13/20) at Catford High, and do a live gig at the IvyHouse 40 Stuart Rd London SE15 3BE on the 21st March. We'll have 6-8 bands - there are still some places available for guitar/bass/keys/drums. Felix's School of Rock (FSOR), is London's premiere rock school for kids and a registered charity. A few parents said that they wanted to rock out the way their kids were doing. In a 'light bulb moment', Felix launched the University of Rock, and in 4 years it's gone from strength to strength. There have been over 150 adult students in over 40 bands. Several bands are still together and gigging regularly.
