ased in Santa Maria, California, CafeFX has risen from local broadcast commercials to wide screen success in thirteen short years, creating some of the most exciting 3D and character animation work for over 60 studio-released films including Spider-Man 3, Pan’s Labyrinth, Ghost Rider, The Good Shepherd, Snakes on a Plane, Sin City, King Kong, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Aviator, Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Master and Commander. In addition to creating all of the visual effects for Pan’s Labyrinth, CafeFX also acted as Associate Producer and funding partner for the film, spawning Sententia Entertainment which is now developing its own film production projects. The Syndicate is a creative design, branding and digital production studio working with top agencies, networks and studios on award-winning commercials and music videos.

ed their operations in 2002 by partnering with short-form artists to create The Syndicate, a Santa Monica-based production house specializing in commercials and music videos. As a result, Barnes and his collaborators now provide a variety of motion imaging services to a diverse client base including Paramount Pictures, Miramax, Universal, New Line Cinema, Fox, Dimension, Columbia and Disney.
