// Open LOCAST The goal of this project was developing an web app based on MIT’s Open Locast engine. It is a “location-based media framework” that allows users to provide interactive contents. The field research was taken in Moray, Scotland. After interviews with the local people and workshops and probes, it is discovered that a medical resource allocation/evaluation system can help people to use existed public health facilities more effectively, or discover new information about health communities with the content other users provided.
PROBES As part of the user research, various probes were sent to people in Moray. Each probe was a large map folded as a gift box, with interactive materials in it: a disposable camera, a book and a journal for users to record their life. The probes provided feedbacks from potential users. From them, the requirement of users were learnt.
SKETCH STYLE A sketch style website looks friendly as the population structure in Moray is mainly elder people

// ProjectMan ProjectMan is a project collaboration web service based on cloud computing. With this easyto-use platform, users can check the tasks, discuss with their teammates, view the progress of the projects, and share files with each other at any time. With ProjectMan, project management only takes several minutes daily.
TWO MODES From the interviews, the users needed something that can help them in collaboration and effective management. The service also need to be easy to use and give user good experience. ProjectMan included both the website and the mobile client. The data will automatically synchronize in real-time.

// Memofy Designed for Alzheimer Scotland, Memofy is an app that helps people who are caring a person with dementia to record logs and share information.
Memofy uses graphic interfaces and voice recording so people with dementia can easily use it.
It was a challenge to interview people with dementia, but very important as I got the first-hand data such as their habit, vision and requirements.
After integrated all the interviews and researches, a chart of information that people affected by dementia need and are willing to share were created. This chart became the foundation of the design.
High-fidelity Prototype An interactive prototype, built with Axure, was tested by users. Based on their feedback, the design was improved. Paper Prototype A low fidelity prototype sometimes works better as users would focus on the concept, not on the details and interfaces
// EasyInfographics Infographics are popular and amazing, but usually over complex for general public to create. In some circumstance, people do not require a “fancy infographic but a quick and relatively good one. EasyInfographics is an online infographic builder that helps people without design background create infographics and trade their works.
EASYINFOGRAPHICS User Research The mindmap showed the findings of interviews and possible solutions.
Flowchart 2 This is the flowchart about the process of creating an infographic. The steps which users need help on can be seen.
WIREFRAME PROTOTYPES To learn the opinions of users, I built wireframe prototypes with Axure to give users a visual concept and an experience on how those functions would work. The prototype was generated as a batch of HTML files that were functional and interactive, so they can test the logic and functions similar with the real product.
The system automatically selected world map as the locations were global. If there were only European countries, it would show European map.
Because one of the keyword was “water“, the system automatically picked a water-themed template.
MARKET Users could purchase extra templates, or sell infographics/templates they made themselves at the market.
OTHER PROJECTS Wireframe prototype created with Axure.
Another prototype of the C2C channel, created with Visio.
Dangdang.com Dangdang.com is one of the largest B2C website in China. I re-designed its all seven B2C channels and created a new C2C channel
Domain name registry platform HiChina is the largest domain name registry and web-hosting service provider in China. I developed its .mobi domain name registry platform
