Pilates: An Introduction Pilates is based around the development of the body through core strength and flexibility, and performed on either a mat, referred to as Pilates Matwork, or on exercise equipment originally conceived by founder Joseph Pilates. These equipment workouts generally utilise pulleys and resistance from the participant’s own body weight and graduated levels of springs. Successful Pilates Precision students have gone on to work in many areas of the fitness industry, including some of the biggest fitness chains in the UK and setting up their own Pilates studios. A Pilates diploma can also offer the flexibility of being able to offer private one-to-one sessions with clients. Pre-requisites The Pilates Matwork Diploma is the core training for any Pilates instructor. The only pre-requisite for enrolment onto the Pilates Matwork Diploma is the attendance of five mat-group or one-to-one classes, so you can familiarise yourself with the concept and movements. No previous training within the fitness industry is required. The Pilates Precision also offers continued development on completion of your Pilates Matwork training, with the Equipment Diploma. To enroll on the Equipment Diploma you will need to have completed the Pilates Matwork Diploma or a level 3 Pilates Instructor qualification with another provider. Why the Pilates Precision?
