OUR TEAM Mujus artisan team: PerĂş Paola trains each Mujus artisan, spending half of each year in Peru teaching them new techniques and discovering new materials. We are proud to pay fair wages to our artisans, provide them with health care, and give them opportunities to further their education. Sonia: Sonia is a wonderful young woman. She started in the production side of Mujus but quickly, her desire to learn and improve herself moved her into a managerial position. Currently, Sonia handles all the administrative tasks for Mujus Peru as well as the quality control of our designs. Nellita: Nellita joined the Mujus team almost a year ago. After learning all our methods and practices Nellita started working from home so she can take care of her two kids: Nicole and Bryan. Ruller: Ruller is originally from the Peruvian jungle. He came to Lima to study and work almost a year ago and started working with Mujus almost immediately upon his arrival. Last spring, Ruller enrolled in a business administration program in a local institute. He is currently attending classes and working with Mujus on a part time basis. Maritza: Maritza was one of our first two artisans at Mujus. She is very caring and shy but she smiles a lot. Maritza used to work doing jewelry at another local business but unfortunately, the pay was too low and she was unable to support her family. With Mujus, Maritza is now able to earn a better salary and access to healthcare for her and for her daughter Dana. Jesus: Jesus is in charge of sourcing and picking up the best raw materials for Mujus. He works closely with tagua producers to improve the extraction techniques and diminish any waste of material. Jesus has two daughters, Maria and Helena, and lives with his wife, Mariana in Lima.
