Guidelines for Utilizing the Winter Center Recording Studios Priority for booking the Winter Center Recording Studios is given to: In Order of Priority: Millersville University Students Enrolled in a Millersville University recording class for classrequired projects (Priorities #2-#7 will be scheduled around student class work blocks)

Fee: No Fee

MBT students finished with their basic recording sequence (max 2hrs/ week) Millersville University Music Majors involved with personal, non-class related projects Millersville University Music Department Faculty / Staff (After 10 free hours per semester)

No Fee $10/hr $20/hr

Community Partners (determined by the Winter Center Director), and MBT grads

$30/hr

Millersville University Student Bands/ Artists, non-Music Majors

$20/hr

Outside Clients paying rent to the studio, paying posted rates, required to utilize Millersville University Technicians

Guidelines: Breaking any of the following rules may result in loss of studio access.  The Recording Studio may NOT be used without an approved studio request to ensure the proper booking of space, scheduling of Studio Technician, and collection of applicable fee.  The Recording Studio may NOT be used for rehearsals that do not require recording, with the exception of credited Commercial Ensembles. For rehearsals without recording, a separate Winter Center space can be requested. For non-recording room reservations, please visit Alex Bender in VPAC room 108.  No outside technicians will be permitted to use the equipment at any time, for any reason.  An approved Studio Technician under direction of the Recording Studio Supervisor must be scheduled to work with the requesting individual/group for all aspects of recording studio usage.  Each session is not to exceed 4 consecutive hours unless given advance permission by Winter Center Exec. Staff or MBT Director.  The Recording Studio must be restored to how it is found at the end of each session.  Under no circumstances should there ever be any type of food or drink in the Control Room, Live Room, or Isolation Booth in the studio suite.  No equipment may leave the recording suite.  Recordings from the studio will include credit to the Studio Technician and any other applicable student workers on all promotional materials, such as “Recorded at Millersville University by (followed by names)”.  If recording non-original music, must be able to prove receipt of applicable rights to record artist’s music.
