CINDY ULRICH, DIRECTOR

Over 40 years of acting and this is my first role as a director! This has been an experience that I will never forget. Will I try this again? Let’s just say...I am so much more comfortable being ‘on stage’ than off stage. I will admit however, that I have a new-found respect for directors. There is a ton of work that goes into getting a production ready for opening night. Dear Audience, I am truly grateful that you have taken the time out of your day to join us here at M. T. Pockets. We know that without you we wouldn’t exist. Now, I’d like to invite you to sit back and get ready. You are about to embark on a roller-coaster ride into the hysterical minds of Shel Silverstein, (known for The Giving Tree and Where the sidewalk Ends, and Christopher Durang. You will be witnessing a variety of comedic sketches and my hope is that they will tickle your funny bone, and that they do so with panache and aplomb. Remember, the nice thing about “one acts” is that if you don’t like one, there is another one to follow. I truly want to thank my fabulous cast and crew for all of their support and patience as I worked through the directing process. I was very lucky to have you as part of this adventure. I couldn’t have done it without you. You’re the best! And to my family...I’m coming home soon! Love you all!

Artistic Bios JOY CARR-FURBEE is a West Virginia transplant from Kentucky. She firmly believes that the power of live theater helps understand life and what it means to be human. Her dream role is to be cast as the “before” chracter in an awful infomercial. HARRISON CASE re-started his amateur theater career at the 2018 M. T. Pockets One Act Play festival, in the bumbling buddy comedy Raiders of the Wok Star. Most recently, he played a divorced dentist dad in the Company’s production of On Golden Pond. This November, he will attempt Shakespeare after a 20year hiatus, portraying Theseus, Duke of Athens, in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. A Morgantown native, Harrison enjoys soccer, politics, the outdoors and his loving and growing family. He thanks Tawnya Drake for the courage and inspiration that got him back on the stage. SERET COLE wears many hats in the theatre world, actormusician-tech-director. Directing credits include Steel Magnolias, The Sunshine Boys, Dancing at Lughnasa and Same Time, Next Year. Performance credits include To Kill A Mockingbird Ragtime, Hello Dolly, High Spirits, Neverwhere, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, The Mad Breakfast, No Exit, Lady Killers and Stupid Fucking Bird – to name a few. She leads workshops in meditation and works as a life coach, helping individuals via the art of meditation and meditative breath. When the weather is nice you can find her exploring a National/State Park - hiking/camping/rock climbing with her husband and three boys, or on or near the hockey ice - Go Blades! CHRISTIAN COX is an active actor, comedian and director in WV area. He mostly directs for M. T. Pockets including this past year On Golden Pond, but is thrilled to be acting in such hysterical roles. He recently appeatred in the Fairmont State Town and Gown’s production of The 1940’s Radio Hour as Neal Tilden and the Kennedy Center Theatre Festival showcase performance as the villainous Caldwell B. Cladwell in Urinetown: The Musical. Christian is a founding member of the WV premiere professional improv group The Fearless Fools. He teaches acting and improv classes for the Academy of the Arts at Fairmont State University. He is thrilled to be a part of this hysterical ensemble of short plays. Laughter is the best medicine, to quote Herman Melville, “A good laugh is a mighty good thing, a rather too scarce a good thing.”

Artistic Bios COLIN CRAWFORD has been part of the M. T. Pockets Theatre family for over 7 years. A long-time resident of Morgantown, he has had the pleasure of being involved in several M. T. Pocket productions beginning with the 2011 production of Time Flies. He has appeared in Twelve Angry Men, The Irish Curse, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, The Reindeer Monologues, Sordid Lives, And Then There Were None and many others. He also had the pleasure of directing The Dixie Swim Club and several One Acts. STACY HOVATTER, new to M. T. Pockets, makes her second appearance with us, haivng previously appeared in Distracted. Stacy has found a love for theatre stating, “There is nothing more exciting than being able to make the audience feel. Whether it be laughing, crying, or sheer happiness, she believes it is a magical thing to touch the hearts of the audience.” KAICI LORE is a West Virginia native, born and bred in the Eastern Panhandle. Alongside her work at M. T. Pockets, she is a member of VTC's Rustic Mechanicals troupe. She's been acting since 2001 and has tried her hand at screen-writing, film and photography. When not involved in theatre, Kaici is studying interior design and developing her own design firm. She loves spending her free time creating art and spending time with her fur babies Salem, Taron and Justin. She would like to thank M. T. Pockets for giving her a theatre home. She would also like to thank director Cindy Ulrich for letting her join her on this adventure of a show and for becoming someone Kaici looks up to and deeply respects. She hopes you enjoy the show! ADAM MESSENGER is a resident of Morgantown, received a BFA degree in acting from West Virginia University’s School of Theatre and Dance. He has appeared as Ty Williamson in Sordid Lives, Dromio of Ephesus in The Comedy of Errors and the American Men in A Piece of My Heart. During the school year, he works as a substitute teacher and with the WVU Community Children’s Theatre program. ANITA SANTILLI is excited to step on stage again, after a long hiatus from theatre. Growing up in Wheeling, WV, she was a frequent player at Wheeling Park High School, Towngate and the Strand. Now, she happily resides and works in Morgantown. This is her first performance with M. T. Pockets Theatre and would like to thank the entire cast and crew for making her feel welcome. A special thanks to her fiancé, Dean, for his encouragement throughout the rehearsal process.

Artistic Bios SANDY SCHWEINGRUBER is a newcomer to the M. T. Pockets Theatre but not to the stage. She recently located to this area from Pounding Mill, VA, and has performed in numerous shows in Bluefield, WV, with the Summit Players and 4 Pals Productions. JIM STACY is a lawyer who practices alongside his wife, Melissa Stacy, in the aptly named Stacy Law Offices. He’s had an acting problem since about 1982, when he auditioned for a high school production of the musical South Pacific and lost his voice out of sheer terror while attempting to sing “Younger than Springtime.” On the M. T. Pockets stage, he most recently appeared as the mildly troubled Duke Solinus in Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors, the homicidally troubled Justice Wargrave in Agatha Christie’s And Then there Were None, and the deeply troubling Uncle Peck in Paula Vogel’s How I Learned to Drive. He has three children, Leah, Evan and Owen, one and a half of whom also have the acting bug. CHARLOTTE SWIGER has appeared in several M. T. Pockets productions, having first been cast in Mercy Machine in 2011. Additional performances include Time Flies; School Children Hiding Under Desks; Revenge of the Red Feather Ladies; Dixie Swim Club; Stone Touchin’; Love, Loss and What I Wore; Sordid Lives and Over the River and Through the Woods. Prior to M. T. Pockets, she acted in a variety of venues and was also part of a touring murder mystery theater group. Former performances included The Pageant at Barrington Hills, Great Grandma Rose, Death by Disco, Dyeing for Murder, Gunfight at the Carrie May Corral and The Heist of the 7th Fish. MICHAEL VOZNIAK, a native of Fairmont, WV, is pursuing a Ph.D. in English, at WVU, where he also teachers firstyear college composition. He has been involved in theatre since high school and has acted throughout his college career at Fairmont State University, where he majored in English and double-minored in theatre and biology. Outside the Lines is Michael’s second appearance at M. T. Pockets; his first was in the role of Cletus in the 2014 production of Lone Star, directed by Christian Cox. He also acts for the Rustic Mechanicals, WV’s only traveling Shakespeare troupe; he has been involved with the troupe since 2014, and has appeared in eight productions.

Artistic Bios AMANDA ALGEE (Lighting Technician) is a graduate student at WVU pursuing a second master’s degree in social work. Amanda has been involved with community theatre as an actress and backstage since she was a teenager. Since joining M. T. Pockets, she has appeared in in Neverwhere, Comedy of Errors, The Sunshine Boys, Distracted, A Piece of My Heart and several One Act Festival productions. GEORGE BARBER (Sound Techncian) was born in Bridgeton NJ, but now calls Morgantown home. While he is new to M. T. Pockets, he has appeated in The Frontier Saga, worked lights and sounds with On Golden Pond and now is your audio operator for today. He has had a lot of fun so far and looks forward to continuing to auditioning and performing in many shows to come. An iconic fairy tale, spun in the moonlight. A mingling of realms... the everyday with the fantastical, with poignancy and humor.

November 9-11, 16-18 Wedding plans between Theseus, Duke of Athens, and Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons are underway when the couple is interrupted by angry parents trying to stop their headstrong daughter, Hermia, from marrying Lysander instead of their choice, Demetrius. A plan that backfires as the couple flees into the mystical Forest of Arden followed by Demetrius and Helena, (who is, in turn, love with Demetrius). There, Oberon and Titania – king and queen of the fairies – are having a quarrel of their own. And when Oberon enlists his servant Puck to cast a spell on his queen, everyone gets caught up in the magic of this iconic Shakespearean fairy tale.
