“She looked absolutely beautiful”
birthday getaway celebration concluded with Craig Barker’s intimate proposal to Mallory Elliott. “He surprised me right when we got to our hotel room and asked me to marry him,” shares Mallory. The couple says they hit it off the first day they met. “We were introduced by Craig’s cousin while visiting in Arizona. It was Craig’s 30th Birthday that week and we celebrated and had his first official birthday party for him since his birthday falls 2 days after Christmas. We officially started dating in early 2011 and have been inseparable ever since,” says Mallory. In the beginning of 2013 the couple began looking for a venue. Soon they came across The Terrace and knew right away this was the perfect place to exchange vows. They knew they wanted a Fall Wedding and soon enough agreed on the special date, October 19, 2013. A date that marks the beginning of their journey as husband and wife.
The Planning What was the most fun detail of your wedding planning? Bride: For me, it was picking out my dress. I tried on about 8 dresses and I fell in love right away with the one I ended up getting. Groom: It was recording the song I sang for Mallory as our “second” first dance. What was the most difficult detail of your wedding to agree upon? The most difficult part was making the guest list. We both had so many more people that we wanted to be there. Being a limited seating venue, we had to not include a lot of our friends and family that we actually wanted there. But in the end, everyone who needed to be there, was there. How would you wedding? The
the style of your was semi-formal.
The Groom wore a dark gray suit from Mastroianni’s Fashions
The Bridesmaids were raidiant in dark purple gowns by Vera Wang.
“I felt butterflies in my stomach and thought he looked so handsome up there waiting for me to get there. Everything felt so right and perfect when I got up there that all the nerves and butterflies went away and I was just so happy to be there with him.
“I felt that I was the luckiest man in the world in that moment. She looked absolutely beautiful. If I ever had a doubt in my mind, it was put at ease when I saw her that night. It was that point that I remembered all the reasons I wanted to marry her in the first place.

Memorable Moment The most memorable moment for Mallory was when Craig announced that he would sing for her. Craig had his brother Michael and his cousin Brad play the guitar and backup vocals. They actually went to a studio and recorded the song “My Best Friend” by Tim McGraw. The DJ played it and that was their second dance and the most memorable moment of the whole night for her! “Our dances with each other and our dances with our parents were very special to us, but when we saw all of our kids out on the dance floor dancing and doing it Gangnam style, we thought that was pretty awesome and special. Also, this was only the second time all of Craig’s maternal and paternal brothers and sisters were in the same room at the same time.”
What was your first dance song? and how did you decide on it? “ Our first dance was This I Promise You by NSYNC. We both really like that song and the meaning behind it and we felt like it would be the perfect first dance song. Also our ‘second’ first song was, My Best Friend by Tim McGraw.” Where did you go on your honeymoon? How were the first days spent as a husband and wife? We went on a cruise to the Bahamas. We flew to Miami, set sail from there. We spent a day in Nassau, a day in Cococay, and a day in Key West before heading back to Miami. Our kids were with their Grand Parents for the week, so we actually got to spend two days alone at home after we got back from Miami before we got back to the grind. Our first days as husband and wife were kind of bittersweet. We were so excited to be a newlywed couple, but at the same time, we both caught miserable colds on our cruise that kept us bedridden for a solid day.
