Cunningham started nine games and played in 36 for the Bears in 2012 ... had six hits, four being infield singles ... drove in her first career run in a road win at Creighton (May 5) ... had three pinch hits, the most on the team ... successfully stole two of three bases ... scored the lone MSU run against No. 13 Missouri (March 4).
AT MISSOURI STATE
Cunningham will anchor the outfield in 2014 and has speed that will be a valuable spark to the offense.
2013 [-Junior-]
Cunningham stepped in admirably and took the centerfield role with 50 games played and 44 starts ... hit .294 and set career-bests with 32 hits, 20 runs scored and seven RBI ... topped the Bears with three triples, one shy of the league lead ... all three of her triples came against MVC foes ... was successful on 10 of 12 steal attempts, one of just two Bears with double-digit stolen bases ... had six outfield assists and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, flawlessly converting all 84 chances ... scored a career-high three runs against Creighton (April 28) going 2-for-2 with a stolen base in the game ... drew a pair of walks and went 2-for-2 in series finale at SIU (April 14) ... stole a career-best two bases against Boise State (Feb. 15) in the opening game of the UTSA Classic ... had seven multi-hit games on the season ... tagged her first career double against Iowa State (Feb. 16).
2011 [-Freshman-]
Cunningham appeared in 43 games for MSU as a freshman ... received a starting assignment at Indiana State on March 27 ... her 10 steal attempts were the secondmost on the team ... recorded her first career hit, a pinch-hit single, at Indiana State on March 26 ... one of eight Bears to score double-digit runs (10) on the season ... scored a run in the Bears’ four-run sixth inning to seal the MVC Tournament Championship on May 14.
BACKGROUND
Cunningham came to Missouri State after lettering three years as an infielder/ outfielder at Warrenton High School ... earned all-conference and all-district honors as a senior outfielder ... picked up second-team all-conference recognition as an infielder her junior year ... also competed in basketball and track and field, posting a third-place finish in the 400 meters at the MSHSAA Class 3 state meet as a senior.
