At Missouri State: Nogueroles had an impressive freshman

2009-10: Nogueroles swam in an astounding eight different

events for the Bears as a freshman. During the season, Nogueroles turned in times of 5:01.95 in the 500-yard freestyle (fifth all-time), 10:16.77 in the 1,000-yard freestyle (second all-time) and 2:05.67 in the 200-yard butterfly (fourth all-time), each time cracking the Missouri State all-time top five for their respective events.

Background: Nogueroles was the sole international signee for

the Bears’ women for the 2009-10 season. A very talented swimmer, she has competed several times in the Spanish National Championships. Nogueroles has represented Spain at meets in Greece, Italy and Germany and will swim butterfly and middistance freestyle events at MSU.

Personal: Marta Nogueroles is the daughter of Antonio Nogueroles and Nacarmen Blanco Garcia. She has one sister, Cristina.

At Missouri State: Peterson will come back for her junior cam2009-10: Peterson swam sprint freestyle, distance freestyle

and butterfly events for the Bears as a sophomore. Her times of 1:55.76 in the 200-yard freestyle (fourth), 18:38.31 in the 1,650yard freestyle (fifth) and 2:10.86 for the 200-yard butterfly (fifth) all rank in the seasons top five times.

2008-09: Swam in multiple events for Missouri State setting a

personal best and the fourth best time on team in the 200-meter freestyle at the Missouri Valley Championships with a time of 1:55.57.

Background: Peterson became a Bear after swimming four

years for Mount St. Mary’s Academy in Little Rock, Ark. Peterson was a four-time all-state and all-region selection. Her senior year, she was named women’s swimmer of the year by her teammates, leading her high school to a state championship. Peterson was also a member of the scholar-athlete squad as a senior.

Personal: Full name is Laura Renee Peterson. Born November 7, 1989, in Tulsa, Okla. Daughter of Greg and Leta Peterson. Laura’s father, Greg, swam for Millikin University.
