Paying Tribute to Mary the Mother of Jesus and Mother of all Christians.

Altar Servers

May is the month when Catholics traditionally focus on Mary, the Mother of Jesus; a logical time for the celebrations of Mary, who brought life into the world.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are unable to fulfill your role, it is your responsibility to find a replacement. If you would like to be added to the Ministry Schedule, please contact the Parish Office or call Mrs. Veronica Coleman-Davis.

The month of May is a month which the piety of the faithful has long dedicated to Mary, the Mother of God. Our heart rejoices at the thought of the moving tribute of faith and love which will soon be paid to the Queen of Heaven in every corner of the earth. For this is the month during which Christians, in their churches and their homes, offer the Virgin Mother more fervent and loving acts of homage and veneration; and it is the month in which a greater abundance of God's merciful gifts comes down to us from our Mother's throne.

Bishop’s Appeal 2013: Goal $7,000—Total pledges as of 4/21 equal $2,522 Bishops Anniversary Celebration: Today 6:00pm at the Cathedral, 20 years. A reception to follow. May 8: Mary Crowning, School Mass May 9: Luncheon, School altar servers Advertisements: Holy Names is seeking businesses and/or professionals to advertise in our church bulletin to offset the costs of our printing the bulletin each week. Holy Names would be happy if you can work at our Social Ministry Office, call the Parish Office. ENTER TO WIN: Sign up students for enrollment @ Holy Names School. When you get students signed up, your name will be entered into a drawing pool to WIN $300.00. The more students you get signed up, the better your chances are of winning! See Principal Reese or Angela Delaney for applications.

We are delighted and consoled by this pious custom associated with the month of May, which pays honor to the Blessed Virgin and brings such rich benefits to the Christian people. Since Mary is rightly to be regarded as the way by which we are led to Christ, the person who encounters Mary cannot help but encounter Christ likewise.
