Remote Networked Schools Project In the Spring of 2011, Marta Valle hosted a visit from the Minster of Education of Quebec, who was interested in learning about our work integrating technology into our instructional program. As an outcome of that initial meeting, MVHS was invited to partner with schools internationally in the Remote Networked Schools Project. Tracy Karas (MVHS Library Media Specialist) and Robin Paletti (MVHS Lead Literacy Teacher were invited to visit Quebec during August, 2011 to attend the International Remote Networked Schools Annual Conference, and planning began for an exciting international collaboration between our teachers and teachers in schools in Quebec and Mexico. On May 24, 2012 we hosted a visit from Ecole Secondaire LouisJacques Casault in which over 100 students, ten teachers, and representatives from the Quebec Government Office in NY participated. Our visitors toured MVHS, learned about the history of MVHS and the Lower East Side, and participated in team building activities facilitated by Community Coordinator Dexter Hannibal and our Senior Peer Mentors. They were extremely impressed with our school, our educational team, and our students!! Congratulations, MVHS!
